🧡 => @lesbacchanteslacourse#lamoustachevaincra#lesbacchantesaix#lesbacchantes

Left it all out there today. That was my main goal, and it happened in 1:31:09, (a 3+ minute PR!). 10th female overall, 3rd 25-29 AG
I haven’t hurt that much in a race in a while! Sub-1:30, I’ll get there soon.
This was final year running @magiccityhalf unless I’m somewhere nearby in a year! Thank you to Birmingham for beginning my love of long distance running. Photos 2-4 from the last three years. #cadenceruncoaching#runfast#runhappy

Ahora si, a recuperar bien y a planificar bien 2019.
Second 10 miler of the weekend complete with @ldnbrunchclub, and exactly TWO weeks to go until @maratonvalencia 🇪🇸
Today’s miles were completed in the beaut autumnal sunshine along the Thames, with a few extra miles added on at the end.
Next week will bring less miles. I’m aiming to cut the mileage by ~1/3, taking my weekly mileage to 20-25 miles. I’ll be scrapping the speedier runs and focusing on lower mileage and practicing race pace.
13 SLEEPS 🏃🏻♀️
today’s run was interesting: I went on my run an hour later than usual and started my first mile at a comfortable pacing. After running for a bit I realized that my music was too loud and I couldn’t hear my surroundings. So, I stopped my run to fix the volume. I only recently started listening to music during my runs - long term wise for usatf sanctioned races it depends on the race director if you’re allowed to have headphones on- I’ve been running without music for about 1-2 years, but it makes the solo runs a bit more fun.
Anyways, after I lowered the volume I continued running. I was about halfway through the first mile when I saw a boy, at least 14 or younger, sprint straight in front of me. For reference I was coming south -> north and he was coming west -> east. I thought to myself oh he’s running pretty fast. He saw me and started asking me for help; he was lost.
I was wearing @aftershokz Trekz Air headphones which makes sure I’m able to hear music + surroundings, went an hour later than usual for my run & lowered the music early on so I could hear my surroundings, which all lead to me to be the runner that happened to be there at the right time.
I stopped running & it turns out his phone died and he didn’t know where he was. I let him borrow my phone and he seemed really relieved that someone actually stopped to help him. This got me thinking- how many runners didn’t stop? The path I run usually has some runners passing so how many were so in the running zone that they didn’t realize that a young boy was lost and needed help?
Moral of the story: runners PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pay attention to your surroundings. Yes you’re in the running zone but if someone needs help you should stop and help. Yes we all have paces we want to hit but if someone needs help STOP RUNNING AND HELP.
Love listening to music as you run? Invest in @aftershokz , they’re open ear headphones so you’ll always be able to hear your music + surroundings clearly.
Ps. When he went to call, it came up speaker / Bluetooth and I had to say oh sorry! Since @aftershokz are wireless he actually couldn’t tell I had headphones on under my Nike Hijab 😂
“Sometimes Happiness is a feeling. Sometimes it’s a decision.” Sometimes my feelings doesn’t always agree with me. I’m glad I decided to go out. Super late run to visit the Windmill Island. Definitely tough run after too much fun last night. 😜. #runner#irunoutside#iloverunning#runhappy#positivevibes
It’s always a fun morning to be part of this event! @flanigansfl@rundepot last year we timed a world record, this year was close to the course record! “7 seconds away!
How many people can you name or tag in the starting line up? Some of the country’s top runners all on one starting line!
9 miles at a 9:43 pace. Congratulations to everyone who ran the Philly Marathon today! I was supposed to be there, but life got in the way. I wish I could say I have my shit together, but that’s far from the truth. Lately, I’ve battled anxiety, depression, and sometimes it’s hard for me to get myself to leave my house. If you asked me why or roll your eyes, I totally get it. It’s hard to believe when you don’t live it, but I’m getting by each day with the slightest belief tomorrow will be better. Am I okay? Sure. Am I really okay? 🤷🏽♀️ I dyed my hair purple, though! And I love it. It counts for something, right?
I’ll run that marathon one day; just not today. 🦄
Another burpee punishment by myself ( burpee selfie 😅) ———————————————
When I run in nature I can’t help myself to stop taking pictures with nature ... so trails today again and if I stopped 10 flying burpees straight away ... well I end up with 70 burpees ... .
Anyway it’s not story today about me but about runners community. .
I was away supporting my best running buddy @hev_runnergirl with her #tweedvalleyultra today . When she finished her race I decided to go out in forest for my trail training run . .
I was 4 km in when suddenly I saw one ultra runner wondering around - yes he was struggling, he was shaking and still 3 km to go . His garmin was dead as well . As I am a first aider I decided that I couldn’t let him go alone ... So I decided to help him out. .To help him finish his race . .
We were chatting away , we were running really slow pace but that feeling that the last miles in a long race all is about your brain that was a great lesson for me as I will be running my first ultra in 2 weeks time . . .
And then came the craziest sentence out from my ultra runner - I have a small stone in my left trainer already from km 20 😱 I was like OMG 😮 but he just replied - that stone helped me to focus on my race . You can run through any injury if your brain is strong . .
I was speechless for a moment. I understood that there is no way how to ask get rude of that stone ... .
He made it but I made it as well . I had the best running experience and advice from ultra runner , the best example when you are a mess from long race but you still moving and still not quoting. That’s called stamina. . When your legs can’t run anymore run with your brain and heart . Now I understand this saying 🙌
