Sure, I would love to wake up when my body says I’m ready and go for a nice walk in the sunshine, drink my coffee and have muffins, but.
1. That isn’t realistic when you’ve got kids to raise and businesses to run.
2. That’s not going to get me to the goals I have in my head.
3. It’s freakin cold and rainy. ☔️ .
It’s going to be hard work. You’re going to have to do things you don’t want to do. It’s going to take consistent effort over a long time, but when you’re ready to change your life and start living in a way that brings you closer to that person you want to be. I’ll have your back.

Stress part 3: How do we fix it?
Well, the easiest hard step is food. A lot of times when we’re stressed this is the first thing to go out the window, which can end up adding to the problem. It’s science. Crappy food will contribute to you feeling crappy. Guess what? Feel crappy, you’re probably not going to want to get moving on that list of things stressing you out...increase stress. 🤷♀️ Choosing foods that are full of vitamins and nutrients will boost your natural energy and make your body happy and fuel your day.
Aside from that, it helps with the mental game. With all the craziness going on in your day this is an easy opportunity to be in control of something positive. You can give yourself something to feel good about. A reason to feel proud. And let’s face it, we could all use that little pat on the back on the days it seems nothing is going right.
Reversely, I mentioned that when you are “dieting” or eating in a caloric deficit for any amount of time, your body also views this as “stress” and can raise your cortisol levels (stress hormone) which aids to holding weight in your midsection among other things. Take this into consideration. If things are feeling really out of control you may want to take some steps to make up for that like getting extra rest, dialing back cardio, adding a quality multi-vitamin, supplementing to lower cortisol, or reducing stressors somewhere else.
I have been working on getting my nutrition back to whole foods and less sugar, and matching my guidelines and I love the positivity that comes with it. It feels good to take care of yourself. Waking up to a Monday morning and wondering how I got here...Got up for my workout this morning on my farm in Indiana, and brewed a cup of @caferacercoffees, a company that my husband and I created. I did a little research to be prepared for my life coaching clients this morning and then turned on a podcast to do some research for the social media podcast I’ll be interviewed on tomorrow.
Honestly, if you had asked me 5 years ago what my life would look like I might not have mentioned even 1 of these things! Partly because things are always changing and I didn’t know life would lead me to these details, but also because big things always seem so far away.
But here I am and I promise you it just started one day with me being clueless, but being excited about an idea, and then the sun came up and so did I. One day at a time.
I promised myself... What I can promise you is that I didn’t have time today, and I still haven’t figured out how I’m going to fit everything in that’s on my list of must do’s. I didn’t want to go out in the middle of the day heat or go hard for speed, but I did.
I did because I promised myself. I just told my group last week that I wouldn’t live in the success of the win and let that be the top of the mountain, but rather live in the momentum of who I had to become to get there. I promised myself I would t let that be the end and go back down the hill, but rather level up to expect that as my new expected level of performance.
Do you know what happens when you make promise to yourself and you break them? It makes it really hard to believe in yourself thereafter.
On the flip side, do you know what happens when you set out to do something and you actually follow through?! When you show up and make it happen? You have no choice but to BELIEVE that you are a force. You Create proof that you are capable of greatness.
That’s pretty awesome. 5 miles done at 8.35 pace.
