Bragi and Gullfaxi have really started to bond the last few days. Today as you can see above the two were even touching each other in a non hostile way. I’m starting to gain a little hope about Bragi. He’s been calming down a lot when he’s in his pasture lately and yesterday I actually saw him grace for the first time without looking around as if he was doing something wrong. Just relaxed calm gracing. Slowly but surely he’s getting better. He’s also slightly easier to lead and I’ve actually made some progress on lunging him.
Lately I’ve been training Gullfaxi for long distance. He easily has the most stamina out of him and Coral, and to be fair he seems to like it a lot. He’s so used to dressage that just going forward for a long time is a new challenge for him. I’m thinking about maybe entering us in an endurance contest sometime soon as we seem to be able to manage about 40km together right now. More than enough to enter a shorter contest.
Frankie!!! This utterly scrumptious little munchkin came to us back in the summer to be sold (yeah yeah I hear you all saying UH HUH, again, just like my husband!!) but he’s a bold, forward thinking little chap, a pull to stop instead of a kick to go (don’t kick it, not unless you’re Kizzy and you like lightning speed!!) and at only 11.2hh high (and 11.2hh WIDE) there are not many people who are small enough for him who also enjoy his ‘lets get it on!!’ attitude... so he appears to be staying!!!! Quite how we’re going to afford another one is another matter, we’ll worry about that another day!! He’s the sweetest little person, not a nasty bone in his utterly gorgeous squidgy body, he’s as quiet as a mouse on the leadrein and does Etties pottering at the back, eating Freddos and Haribos and talking about unicorns job beautifully... he’s hunted with Kizzy off the lead and she LOVES him, he’s more wide eyed about the world than Cinders so they did a lot of autumn hunting (where it’s slower and easier) and he’s had a bit of a holiday since, and is just being brought back into work in preparation for the summer when we tend to have as many ponies here as we can fit in, as the long daylight hours mean the girls literally ride from dawn until dusk and we need enough ponies to cope!!! We also always try and take a full lorry out when we go competing on the weekends, as if there’s space they may as well come along, so they all join us for picnics and pretty ribbons and ice cream!! Look out for lots more Frankie posts in the next few days as I show you all how he struts his stuff - this is their first ever XC schooling session back in August!!

The only shot of Kizzy jumping the log on Saturday where her head’s in view (Daddy on camera duties, say no more!!) however I rather love its raw fuzziness and those little tucked up back legs!!!
