We have enjoyed week 1 here at Willow Park!
We don’t just teach movement, we teach connection and community through the circle.
Doing this allows us to deeply notice social patterns.
Something that has shifted just in the past 3-5 years in schools across the board is students reaction to a connected exercise like a circle. We used to hear words like “exciting” and now the common answer is “awkward”. We would love to hear from you! Why do you think that is? .
When your child misbehaves, rewards might be the last thing on your mind. But, positive reinforcement can be one of the most effective behavior modification techniques.
You can use positive reinforcement to encourage prosocial behaviors such as sharing or following directions. You can also use it to prevent undesired behaviors like hitting or biting.
Positive reinforcement doesn’t necessarily need to be a tangible item. Instead, you can positively reinforce a child’s behavior by doing the following.
1. Clapping or giving praise
2. Giving a thumbs up.
3. Giving a high five.
What are some ways that you use positive reinforcement in your home?
“If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not very wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still, life has some possibilities left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happened better than riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you will notice it in the instant love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of it’s plenty. Joy isn’t meant to be a crumb.”
Mary, queen in my heart, my life so much richer for your books and words 🙏🏽❤️
Came home to this beautiful gift inside my mailbox! 🎁 Since it’s my 12th month on Essential Rewards, YL kindly gifted me this super special goldmine of an oil.
It’s a blend of all the bests: Rose + Sacred Sandalwood + Sacred Frankincense + Ylang Ylang + Lavender + Geranium + Idaho Blue Spruce + Vetiver. 😵 .
MIC DROP 🖐🏾🎤
This blend is both grounding, and empowering. It can help guide you to do the hard things, to step out of your comfort zone. And it smells HEAVENLY. And I’m not sharing this one, sorry. 🙅🏻♀️.
Not only do you want to create A vibe.....think about how you can create YOUR vibe.
Because YOUR vibe attracts YOUR TRIBE! And you want MORE of your tribe flowing to you.
When I finally stepped into my VIBE, what that meant for me is that I found more CONFIDENCE. I found and felt the confidence to be truly me.
What you see is what you get.
My quirky self with no apologies.
AND then the people started coming into my life who get me and appreciate me for who I am and what I have to offer.
SO, my friends, go out there and create a vibe, YOUR vibe that attracts YOUR tribe. Then, you can celebrate being uniquely you!
Yes ....I am late on this. Have not been able to keep up. These two have been in boot camp for about three weeks now. Wishing these two dudes good luck in the reminder 10 weeks of initial training. If you would like to get there bootcamp address contact us.
So far 2019 has taught me some lessons. 1. Smile through the pain, in the end, only you can make yourself happy. 2. Embrace change. Change will happen whether we have a plan in place, think we know what tomorrow will bring, or have no idea what we are doing. 3. Its okay to be sad. Feel your emotions. Understand them. Be okay with them. Learn from them. 4. Growth requires pain sometimes. Learn from the past, the mistakes, and each experience. And finally 5. Have fun!! Everyday that passes is a day we cannot get back. Enjoy the little things. Dance crazy, be goofy, don't take anything to seriously, and simply have fun. #stilllearning#growing#strength#havefun#courage#faith#love#bekind#beyou#yourbeautiful#youramazing#smile#embracechange
Ever since I was old enough to understand what the United States was, and her history, I knew I was born to be amongst the brave men and women who have fought for this nation. It’s crazy to think I’m almost there. 🇺🇸🙌🏽🦅🤟🏽 #usmc#marines#merica#courage

Cleveland Sellers, one of my heroes, is speaking January 21 at the Atlanta History Center. Take time to hear his story of courage and vision starting as a young Howard U student and founding member of SNNC. #clevesellars#snnc#courage
New York City Library. 📚
I love this Photo. The two massive lions 🦁:)who are modestly chilling in front of the Nyc Library are named Fortitude and Patience 🙌🏼— what great names or?:) and btw, lions characteristics are also common symbols for strength, courage etc.i love Lions ! I am one (horoscopically seen) ...!😎🦁😄roaaar!
Do you Love Lions ?
#RestinPeace#MaryOliver ✨🙏🏼💫 .
For those who might be unfamiliar with her work, Oliver is one of those #poets who is a kind of corrective to our harried times.
Her #prayerful#poems are a #reminder to be #patient and return to #nature. .
Below, one of her better-known and admired #poem, a #profound#meditation with a light touch, on the #art of #loving and leaving...
When #Death Comes
When death comes
like the hungry bear in autumn
when death comes and takes all the bright coins from his purse
to buy me, and snaps his purse shut;
when death comes
like the measle-pox;
when death comes
like an iceberg between the shoulder blades,
I want to step through the door full of #curiosity, #wondering;
what is it going to be like, that cottage of darkness?
And therefore I look upon everything
as a brotherhood and a sisterhood,
and I look upon time as no more than an idea,
and I consider #eternity as another #possibility,
and I think of each life as a flower, as common
as a field daisy, and as singular,
and each name a comfortable music in the mouth
tending as all music does, toward #silence,
and each body a lion of #courage, and something
precious to the earth.
When it's over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to #amazement.
I was a bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.
When it's over, I don't want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened
or full of argument.
I don't want to end up simply having visited this world. —Mary Oliver

"Grit and purpose are redefined for me when I think of Dinesh. He always wanted to work with a school, but couldn’t for long owing to many circumstances. Things changed positively for him and for us when he became the Administrative Associate at iTeach (SVT). His sense of purpose shines when he considers every effort of his as a way to make students life better. His grit shines brighter when he spends over 15 hours at work. Since the past 2 years, Dinesh has been traveling via train for 2 hours every single day from Daund to Hadapsar, just to serve the school. He never complains, he only works hard with dedication and fights his challenges with courage.
Out of the many stories of Dinesh's resilience and commitment at work, one such #StoryOfCourage is of his efforts to gain the Disability Certificate for 2 our students, Anjali and Kirti. The Disability Certificate is a document that provides privileges for students with disabilities, appearing for the SSC Board Exam. My first reaction to him when I learned that he was working for this was,' Why are you doing this and not their parents?''. Dinesh said, "Their parents understand that this document is important for their children, but they don't understand the process of getting it. It is crucial for the student's exams. I will take responsibility for it and do it!" .
With grit, for 2 days, Dinesh would travel many kilometers, spending more than 5 hours at the hospital battling with the authorities, waiting for them to grant the certificates. He also made several trips to the SSC Board office to make sure the students got the privileges they deserved.
He could have easily given up or delegated this task to someone else, considering his busy schedule, but he didn't. This selfless act of his dedication, makes me call him a true hero!" .

When your heart begins to open it will increasingly make its presence felt in a very powerful and telling way. You will feel a growing desire within you to do something with your life and with all your talent, that makes a real difference in this world. When your mind becomes inspired by all the great things your heart desires, you will begin to vividly imagine a more compelling future and you will feel more empowered than ever before to go out into the big wide world and make everything you imagine in your mind something tangible, exciting and beautiful that you can experience for real. Wherever you are in this journey, I wish you, as always, the upmost success! 🙏💙
