The strangest part is that the top window looks lit up but there’s nothing up there, it’s just a crawl space I imagine, or an old attic we don’t have access to. Hazen says it’s just the sunset’s reflection (even though it’s not reflecting on our windows)...OR my current theory - we have an old farm ghost that lives up there 🤷🏻♀️
So this thing followed me home. I don’t know the first thing about ducks but from some searches it looks like a Rouen. My friend found him way off the beaten path, by itself where you would never expect to find a duck. We’ve wanted ducks or chickens for a while so it made sense. We have deer, rabbits, and other wildlife so why not a duck?! Gotta learn everything about raising a duck in about 1 day. Aaaaaaaand go!!! #duck#duckling#rouen#babyduck#countryliving

So recently I have discovered @doterraaunz essential oils thanks to @essentiallytyra and I am hooked. 🍋
So today lemon is my hero, this little guy suffers from a consistently runny nose and after reading my Essential Life book I read that rubbing lemon oil down the bridge of your nose can help.
So I decided to give it a go and boy did it work, it didn’t clear up his runny nose completely but it cleared it up about 90% and there was no sucking, sorry for the TMI but all I can say is it definitely worked 🙌

For Sale... This is the last remaining antique French chemise/smock/nightdress/dress I have in stock currently.
Excellent condition, heavy weight, generous proportions, all buttons and lace intact, faded GE monogram. £65 posted to the UK.
I like to make lists. When you come over, you will find lists on the counter and lists on the table and lists taped to a good number of the things that agreed to stand still. There are lists of things to do, to get, to ask, to remember. My personal favourites are the lists unintelligible to even myself, seemingly scribbled in a sort of hieroglyphic font that I do not recall knowing. Those are super helpful and do not make me stressed at all about what I do not remember forgetting. I’ve always held envy for those with recall, those who know birthdays and details and why don’t they require lists to remember and how do they always know where to find their keys? If I had a dollar for every time I’ve woken up in the grocery store with no earthly idea what I was after then I’d surely have enough dollars to send someone else in to remember. It’s Tuesday and I’ve got to get all kinds of going. There are things that need doing (so many things) and places to go and people to see and I know this because of my list. Wait. Where is that list?
Happy day ✨...

Being able to have her in my backyard has been so wonderful for us. I can go and say hi whenever I have a free minute or spend as much time with her as I want. I can scratch her bug bites. I can sing to her. I can do whatever we want, whenever I have the time. And I think it’s helped us bond so much. So excited for all our future moments together 💖
Oh we are brought up to be eternally stoical optimists when it comes to the weather in Great Britain!
We were predicted thunder and lightening yesterday, and it did indeed come...but not before we’d made our way determinedly to the Holkham Country Fair to enjoy the delights of this typical rural pastime during the Summer season.
Nothing can get in between a committed ‘country lady’ and a satisfyingly quaint country show. There are cookery displays to be witnessed, prized hens to be gawped at, homemade fruity gins to be sampled (again and again..🍸🥴), and minxy tearaway dogs to be giggled at as they misbehave and miss the jumps during the agility course...
Indeed, what would Summer be without the opportunity to watch a kilted band marching in perfect time around a colourfully beflagged show ring? Life could not possibly be complete without the annual jaunty ride upon the merry-go-round with a mouthful of candy floss, whilst a resigned looking teenager holds my handbag and begs me to stop waving and squealing whenever I pass her by...
Of course, one must carefully examine the vintage tractors and watch in awe as their lovingly restored pistons pump and whizz to the glee of the watching crowd. Quite in contrast to our silent, almost meditative contemplation of the master glass blower or the traditional straw weaver at work.
Yes, the ‘Country Fair’ with it’s helpful red socked volunteers, ready to point you in the correct direction, whether it be an urgent necessity to find the nearest portaloo - or this years location to once again enjoy the predictable yet hilarious wit of the sheep shearing display... (Nobby, the disco dancing sheep gets me every time! 🤣)
Country Show I love thee, and long may you last and be enjoyed by generations to come. Rain, sun, thunder or lightening - let NOTHING ever come between us and this quintessentially British day out! 👍❤️👏👏👏👏🎪💫xx
(With thanks to @holkhamcfair for kindly inviting me to yesterday’s event.)
Why is it when I fall asleep to the sound of my dog snoring I think it’s the cutest thing in the world but as soon as I catch the sound of a human snoring I want to put a pillow over their face?
Been finding the last few days hard because Baxter has been a little off with me having been away. I know he will be over it in a few days but I do miss spending all day, every day with him and Alex on our own little holiday. He was even such a proud boy posing outside @widbrook.grange without having to hold onto his lead. Can you believe shortly before we took this he tried to nick Alex’s burger off his plate?
Feeling very grateful for dog friendly hotels and their understand of how important our pets are to us. It made such a difference bringing Baxter with us on our first family adventure. @widbrook.grange was the last place we stayed at and if I could clock my fingers and return then I would be there right now 🐶🥰
