H O M E // Bathroom deets👌🏻 Can’t go wrong with dip-dyed stools, a crystal, bath soaks and a delish candle! Bringing in some major good vibes with this sitch!💫 I think the only thing missing in this pic is a drink sitting on the baby stool - THE perfect place for a beverage as I soak in the tub!🛁 I guess I know what I’ll be doing when I get back to Idaho!😉 Shop these gems over on the @liketoknow.it app! Wishing all my Russian friends a wonderful, healthy and happy New Year! We had a lovely meal to celebrate, pictures 2 & 3 still setting the table. Picture 4, our classical lady is celebrating!
I am very lucky the winter/Christmas season lasts a very long time at our house. We celebrate Christmas, Ephiphany, old Russian Christmas, old Russian New Year, and keep only the greenery, ivy, holy, & evergreen up until Candlemas (Feb. 2nd) Candlemas is an old English custom. Pagen/Viking in origin taken up by the Christians to ward off the dark winter and be a harbinger of spring.
Paxton's Tower was built in 1808 as a monument to Admiral Lord Nelson for Sir William Paxton of Middleton Hall. The Regency gothic tower dominates the picturesque Towy Valley. Designed by Samuel Pepys Cockerell, the gothic tower is in contrast to his Adamesque interpretation of a Neo-Palladian villa, at Middleton Hall, now demolished, the site of the #nationalbotanicalgardenofwales. #architecture#countryhouse
The East Portico of West Wycombe Park that is said to be based on Palladio's Villa Rotunda in Vicenza. The grounds of the house have been described as among the finest and most idiosyncratic 18th century gardens surviving in England.
Basically looks like the start of a horror film 😆 hope you’ve had a good Sunday. I’ve had a lazy photo-editing and moodboard-making Sunday. The best kind 💛

🥳 It’s my birthday! And seeing as my favourite thing is cottages and my favourite flower is a Rose, I have been saving this cottage for today! 🥳
I’m feeling old. So old in fact that I’m starting to forget my age. By old I mean 28, which I realise now isn’t that old, but I know to an 18 year old I might as well have grand children 🤪 I find it funny, when I was 15 I was convinced I would get married at 23 and have a baby at 24. And by baby I mean identical twin girls I mentally planned out in my head, they would be called Autumn and Eliza and I would dress them the same. The only difference between them would be that they would have side partings in their hair on different sides. Well I reached 28 and I am successfully married! No babies for me though, the thought of being responsible for a small human when right now I can’t even drive a car without getting it wedged on decorative boulders because I’m daydreaming about crisps is far too terrifying.
So instead I will eat the rest of my Colin the Caterpillar cake for breakfast and make sure I pester Alex all hours of the day, reminding him it’s my birthday and therefore I deserve unlimited arm tickles and head rubs. He has treated me to a weekend away (next week) but also bought me a plug adapter that can turn into plugs from all across the world, within one plug! And it was when I was squealing in excitement over my plug that I realised yes, I am old.
Happy Friday friends I hope you get to eat cake and be merry 🎂
It’s almost time for these....almost! I’ve spent the last four years planting as many Snowdrops as I can in the wilder areas of the garden (I get mine from the brilliant Clare Bulb Company). They are absolutely what we all need at this dark and cold time of year. Such fearless little flowers! And very easy to grow, if you buy them ‘in the green’. I wrote a blog post on them last year which still stands (link in Bio or swipe up from my Stories). @poshpedlar this one is for you! #awinterstale#littlestoriesofmylife#winterlights#thehatchwilts#countryhouse#snowdrop
Comfort, in both aesthetic and physical terms was an essential element of the brief for this project. Our clients wanted their friends and family who visited to feel relaxed and at home in the space. Structural changes were made to ensure the different period features worked together harmoniously. This shower room as featured in @homesandgardensuk includes a bespoke fit glass shower screen to utilise the space and make the room feel even brighter. #simshilditchinthecountry
