Well what a day 😍 following on from the polls in our stories yesterday I sat down to write up a ‘diary entry’ for what we got up to today. This might take a while 🙈 also, this photo is of me erecting pipingham palace (see stories for more details 😉) in my @rivercottagehq t-shirt 💪🏻
In case you missed in our stories, we have the week off work to get some spring chores ticked off the list. So today was a lot busier than normal. We knew the rain was due in the morning so we took advantage and did nothing 😍 we have had the most amazing weekend but it’s been busy and we’ve had a house full of guests. It was lovely to have a quiet breakfast together!! Whilst it was still rainy we took a trip to a local garden centre called ‘in excess’, do you have one near you?? They are amazing, have lots of hardware and DIY bits too and are mega cheap. Well worth a visit 👌🏻
AND most excitingly I popped to visit a lady down the road from us to pick up 12 creme legbar hatching eggs to pop in the incubator 😬 not excited at all about that 🤦♂️ I’ll do a little story series about how we set up the incubator and try to track their progress 👌🏻and finally we headed out into the meadow to tidy up the big tree that fell in the storms a few weeks ago! I got to have a huge fire which is one of my favourite chores 🔥 I’ll pop a little video up on our stories. #dorsetdiaries#dorset#dorsetlife#ruralliving#smallholding#smallholdinguk#smallholderlife#countryliving#countrylivinguk#countrylife#countrylifestyle#countryhouse#escapetothecountry#livingthedream#livingthegoodlife#goodlife#rurallife#homestead#homesteadlife#countryblogger#lifestyleblogger#dailydiary
I don’t think this one is too impressed right now ... Anyhow I’ve been seeing a few positive posts going around on the old gram this week about being proud of who we are, what we’ve achieved and most importantly, being proud of our own personal flaws.
@thebeautyandthetweed has shared some similar posts on her grid and it’s got me thinking!
No one is perfect, we are all ashamed or embarrassed of some aspect of our lives or our bodies and it’s about time we start changing these views & concepts of ourselves.
Our ethnicity, childhood, body shape, family type, sexuality, race, imperfections and flaws make each and every one of us unique in this entire world 🌍. So why do we feel ashamed about our personal characteristics?
We should embrace them each and every day! & remember judgemental people bring a whole load of negativity into our lives and whose got time for that? Not me.
If I’m honest, I’d rather stay behind the shadows than dive in, because then no one will know. They won’t know if I fail, they won’t know if I blush and most definitely can’t laugh BUT then they can’t celebrate with me, they can come to my party because they won’t know what they’re coming to, they can’t get goosebumps when they see all the hard work pay off. And they can’t enjoy the smiles and laughter that comes with the adrenaline rush.
So dive in! There will be people to help you and catch you but even more excitingly - there will be people who can celebrate you and your successes!
You are on the right path, wherever you are. And you can put that next foot forward. #mentalhealthisimportant#celebrationiskey#equestrianlifestyle
