Well, guys. Christmas season has officially hit my household. Today, I pulled my decorations bins out of the attic, set up our prelit tree in the basement, and did a little Christmas crafting with my daughter, which involved me painting this moody lil number and Audrey making a wine bottle cork Christmas tree. So the total decor tsunami hasn't got yet, but this is totally early for me! When I was a kid we'd get our Christmas tree in my little brother's birthday, December 8th. Nowadays I do it sometime after Thanksgiving, and as a rule never before, but as they say, rules are meant to be broken. I'll happily Christmas craft in my tree lit basement ignoring the beautiful sunny day outside, thank you very much. This is good for now....we'll get our main floor live Christmas tree in another couple of weeks or so. What about you? Any traditions you're breaking or making this year?
Sometimes you slide into a kick ass groove, without foreshadowing or a gut feeling. You hit that zone that feels so damn good you can’t help but beg for it not to end.
It’s 50/50 if a turn in the studio will amount to a smooth (& hot) Gene Kelly dance or an awkward high school Much Music Video Dance Party.
Thankfully I found some Billie & she’s singing me joyful to the Gene spectrum as I unload some feels.
Whether it’s the presence or absence of colour, colour is never unimportant. Donald Judd (1928-1994) was an American expressionist painter whose career segued into art criticism and sculpture. He is best known for his minimalist sculptural works although he rejected the term Minimalism. Judd's works often but not always featured saturated colour and the presence or absence of colour in his works usually conveyed a key meaning within the context of his work. @hairmaid and I clearly have been playing around a lot lately. I probably learn the most when I shoot with her because she has awesome creativity and she lets me stop and think! ♥️😊 It’s crazy how much more detail I can notice if I can just get a few seconds to think about composition. I’m gonna embrace more thinking time during my shoots.

None of those things sound fun to me... I just want to make art, put kisses on my son and eat tacos everyday 😏✌💗
