I added color to my lady. I’m not necessarily happy with the result, but making new choices is how I learn. Swipe all the way right to see it in colored pencil BEFORE the mineral spirits were applied. I finally used something new to blend. Can you see the difference? It’s amazing. #gamsol#gamblin#prismacolor#coloredpencil
Sometimes I pull out old draws, and think, I wonder if I could salvage this? This particular one I learned a valuable lesson about never ever evvvver using a black Prismacolor to color large area's, as a waxy white film appears over time. In an effort to correct it, I experimented with using a couple layers of Polychromos over top and sealed with a fixative. Lesson learned.
I'm a good example. A good example of what not to do.

this is a throwback to a challenge I did last April called “April Colors”.. I’m planning on making another prompt list for this year! I will be doing restricted color palette prompts again, but I will likely be removing any material prompts (so that everyone can participate every day, regardless of what color materials they have). This one was done in watercolors and colored pencil!
If you have any ideas for prompts you’d like to see in this year’s April Colors challenge, feel free to suggest them in the comments!
