Each evening in my tent I wrote a brief description of the day. Here's my report for day 7:
If yesterday was the most discouraging day of the trip, today was certainly the most dangerous. It was an emotional roller coaster. At one point, during my descent of San Antonio pass, I actually recorded a goodbye message to my family, just in case I didn't make it down safely. I've never done that before and hope I never have to again. The descent is probably pretty mild during a nice clear day. Unfortunately that is not what I got today. There was a foot of snow, and that was covering thick nasty mud that was slicker than the snow. I was in clouds so could only see 10-15 feet in front of me, and ended up at the top of a couple cliffs. And of course it was windy. No one had been up there for a while, so I didn't have any hint of a path to follow. I used tent stakes as make shift ice axes to slow any uncontrolled sliding as I worked my way down. When I finally made it down to the path below, everything was so easy and clear cut that I was singing out loud and talking to the cows I passed.
Photo taken early day 7, before I knew what a long day it would be.

All the elopement feels! We had so much fun during this Key Largo elopement!! I seriously love elopements. It’s a stress-free love-induced experience that is truly about only you two and just marrying your best friend. Have you ever thought about eloping? What’s holding you back?

LOVED working with my friend Sam and his beautiful family over Christmas! Booking Spring sessions now!
"And all I do is miss you and the way we used to be. All I do is keep the beat and bad company. All I do is kiss you through the bars of a rhyme. Juliet, I'd do the stars with you any time."
Life is so unpredictable sometimes it can be frightening and weird. Other times it's beautiful and uplifting.
The last few days were a rollercoaster of all that. But how amazing that we can experience all those emotions. How fortunate to get to be there for each other.
Life is messy. Maybe that is why I love this image so much.

It’s never too early to start thinking about VALENTINE’S DAY!!! ❤️ Based on the poll in my insta story this morning, a ton of you are wanting to do couples sessions before Valentine’s Day. 📸 I cannot stress this enough: book ASAP!!! A big problem I had in December was people booking family photos and expecting to get their photos back before Christmas, even though there is a very noticeable warning on my booking page that says the turnaround time can take up to 30 days. 🙅🏻♀️ I only have 2 January openings left and February is already more than half full so GET ON IT. 🚨
