Also known as Type 1 (T1), Super Beetle, Bug, Käfer or Salon
This 1957-1967 model called Beetle 1.2 features enlarged rectangular rear window compared to Splitscreen Beetle (1936-1952) and Oval Beetle (1953-1956)
Rectangular shape remained till end of production
It still retains the sloping headlights and long bonnet as previous models
Who came first: the chicken or the egg? That's a nice debate, but for a fact we know the Beetle came before the Golf. Production begun in 1938 based on a project done in 1925 by Bela Barenyi and later refined by Ferdinand Porsche. It paved the way for what is now the Porsche 911.
@nathan1303s ‘s German Look Beetle has a very healthy 2332cc type 1 engine with Porsche fan cooling..... Carrying very little weight and with a power figure at around 240hp, this Bug can show a clean pair of rear wheels to quite a few modern performance cars..... much to their drivers’ surprise! 😁😁😁
One of the Re:Fuel team will be bringing along their '70 Bug to play. What a little cracker - even if we do say so ourselves! ☺️ ONLY ONE DAY TO GO NOW UNTIL LAUNCH!! 🎉🎊 Don't forget to tell all your chums and get sharing/tagging to spread the word 🤓
