Even though primary education is officially free and compulsory, about 13.2 million of the country’s children aged 5-14 years are not in school. Only 61% of 6-11 year-olds regularly attend primary school and only 35.6% of children aged 36-59 months receive early childhood education.
In Northern Nigeria, the picture is even bleaker, with a net attendance rate of 53%. Getting out-of-school children back into education poses a massive challenge but we are up to the task.
Happy people realize that happiness is largely a choice. Once we stop chasing the world’s definition of happiness, we can begin to see that the decision to experience happiness has been right in front of us all along. Research in the field of positive psychology continues to reinforce this understanding. @behaviourmatters . . .
According to a 2017 report by UNICEF, one in every five of the world’s out-of-school children is in Nigeria. The education deprivation in Nigeria is driven by various factors, including economic barriers, socio-cultural norms and practices that discourage attendance in formal education.
We are doing something about this!
Stay tuned. #BTFoundation#NGO#ChildEducation#childEmpowerment

Child Education poster, Feb 1950.
The illustration of text books and posters for schools (aside from the School Prints series) has largely been ignored by writers on illustration yet if you take Child Education magazine as an example then a surprising number of Puffin illustrators also illustrated for the magazine. This snippet is from a wall poster by Stanley Herbert, who illustrated a Thread of Cotton for Puffin, but also Phyllis Ladyman, John Harwood, Hilary Stebbing and others contributed too. #childeducation#evansbrothers#stanleyherbert#puffinpicturebooks@penguincollsoc#schoolbooks#drfosterwenttogloucester

Remember when you were a child you copied everything that you parents did...
From 0-7 years these are the most significant years for a child and will stay in his subconscious mind. Like a program!
So Be the example for your children,
They are looking up to us! Education is one of the most important things you child can focus on, everything what he see, hear, feel and experience will stay in his subconscious mind when they are between 0-7 years old.
