Urinary incontinence - taboo or not taboo?
The National Childbirth Trust says almost half of all women experience urinary incontinence after childbirth. Unfortunately, despite incontinence being something that many new mums suffer from, it remains a taboo subject.
Its research found that a third of women who developed urinary incontinence after childbirth were embarrassed to discuss it with their partner, and almost half were uncomfortable talking about it with friends.
Most worrying of all, almost four in 10 of women said they were self-conscious speaking about the problem with a health professional.

Hey everyone, this is my new account which I’m hoping to use for physiotherapy and gym related content! @mario.fitness_ won’t be used anymore!
Anyway, hope everyone’s had a great Christmas and New Years! I’ve taken some time off from the gym the last 3 weeks, which is unusual for me. I started University in September, it’s been a big transition for me, and its been lot harder than I expected! So as well as feeling physically fatigued I was mentally fatigued too. So I knew I needed some time off! -
I’m itching to get back into the gym now, feeling ready to get back to doing what I love and what makes me feel good! So what better way to come back then with a new account where I can track my progress, connect with other physiotherapists and maybe educate others about some physiotherapy and gym related topics! -
This is me deadlifting 120kg for 8 reps (my PB) sometime in November. Can’t wait to get back to this level again🤘🏼🤘🏼Shoutout to the lady doing sit ups behind me haha. -
