We’re getting ready for the new house which has this week seen me spending hours on a famous auction site for some little beauts ready for some serious upcycling. The result? A weeks worth of travelling around Kent which is always a pleasure in our glorious countryside. The girls were like Mamma, really more furniture to collect in our week off? Not to worry my little angels (because of course a week off with the kids always sees them act like ‘little angels’ right?!?! 😂) we will fit in some fun stuff en-route and we have and they’ve loved it. We’ve had great adventures and it would seem they have caught my bug of thrift shopping in charity shops! So, this week’s haul thus far sees us with two lovely bureaus (to be painted in Annie Sloan paint for our daughters new rooms) a Chaise Longue (to be given a makeover with some paint and reupholstered) and a couple of Ercol chairs (to be painted to join our existing 4 to create a larger dining set) and, from some seriously good charity shops in #westerham and #battle we bagged repro antique and Art Deco mirrors, 50’s ceramic coffee pot, 2 Spanish hand-painted plates and a repro coffee table also ready for an Annie Sloan chalk paint makeover!! I do love a bit of upcycling and making something new of old...and knowing the money I’ve spent to buy it is being used for something good..it’s a win win on so many levels! 😊 #newhouse#charityshopfinds#thriftstorefinds#upcycling#anniesloanchalkpaint#bureau#chaiselongue#ercol#vintage#interiordesigner#home#myhappyplace getting ready to #makeahouseahome#charity#ageuk#sueryder#cancerresearchuk
This dress has ended up being one of the most flattering in my wardrobe! It is a Windsmoor dress that I picked up in a charity shop for around £15, it was brand new with the tag still on for £99! I've since worn it for weddings and my graduation and it is such a flattering style. I teamed it with a black cardigan and some black M&S court shoes. Honestly most of my wardrobe comes from charity shops as I can't resist a great bargain!

Bedside perfection. A bit of vintage and these sumptuous colours. This is the homeof Wendy @banks_of_the_wabash. We love the shelfie styling too. Books give a room such character (and bonus....make you look clever too innit 😆).
Meet the family, including a toddler, a father and a pregnant mother who have just been released after being imprisoned in a detention centre and sheltered with the support the Goodwill Caravan legal team and with all your donations! Another success case! 💚💚
Do y’all thrift? It’s truly one of THE most #earthfriendly changes you can make and it’s sooo fun to treasure hunt! My husband and I have always hit the thrift stores, back in college in the 90s it was the “cool” thing to do and we just never stopped. In the past few years my thrift game has gotten strong though guys. We live in metro Atlanta and people here have a lot. Being a business hub of the nation, I’ve learned that Atlanta is all about making money and spending it on stuff—and then discarding said stuff! 😫 Not to pick on ATL though, because I think anyplace where there’s a lot of affluence lends itself to that. So I’ve totally benefited from the estate sales, neighborhood yard sales, auctions and thrift stores here. I’ve sold quite a bit online and we keep and use a lot of our finds as well. #usedbooks are one of my favorite things to buy secondhand. I’ve really expanded our #homelibrary this way. There are stores around here that sell books for 20, .30 and .60! Goodwill tends to be a little higher at $1.50 or .77 cents but still, what a steal!! I’ll continue to share my fav things to purchase secondhand with you over the next few days. With a little patience and a little digging you truly can find anything you need/want secondhand. Saving the earth and my money at the same time, I’m in! Who’s with me!? 💚🌿🌎 #zerowaste#thrifter#thriftyliving#zerowastejourney#zerowasteliving#lowwasteliving#lowwastelifestyle#gogreen#conserve#shopsecondhand#picker#welovethrifting#charityshop#charityshopfinds#thriftyfinds#books#readbooks#readaloud#homeschool#homeschoolmom
Bought myself a cute little original watercolour of a Cornish harbour today for just £2 👛. I'd seen it in the charity shop last Saturday but there was another similar one and it felt like they should be kept together!
I didn't like the other one so I didn't buy the one I like last week.
I actually regretted not buying it and even found the perfect spot for it in the dining room and was so tempted to go back and get it but I didn't. I just resigned myself to the fact that it was a missed chance.
Then today, I was passing the charity shop on my way to Aldi so I decided to pop in and both pictures were still there!!! I thought this is fate! I am meant to have this painting and so today, I bought it! I have split the pair but I know if I'd have left it again, it wouldn't be there next time so I grabbed it! 😊. Putting it up for me tomorrow is going to be a little job for @glassesboy123 tomorrow!!! 👌👌👌.
I love vintage shoes. I used to collect 80s vintage Gina shoes but sold many of them on eBay years ago, due to storage issues... there is still one particular red and black pair I regret letting go 😢. I am trying to decide what shoes to wear out at the weekend (weather in Glasgow always ruins my choices!) I think this particular gold pair of vintage Ginas are currently winning, mainly as I have not actually worn them for a while and when I pulled them out I remembered how much I love them 🥰

How much green is too much green? (Asking for a friend 🙊) #wiwt#vintage
Realised I never shared a picture of the finished article....but getting lots of wear out of my wool #wrapskirt - it’s such a happy colour! 💛 (can’t help but feel smug when a little gust of wind hints at the gorgeous spotty lining 🙊😆)
Vintage wool fabric - charity shop 2m for £2

I went to the shop to get eggs to make pancakes in my pimp coat. It’s like a huge duvet, it’s so snuggly and was only £15 from a charity shop. I wonder who else it used to keep snuggly 🍂 also, got sick of my forehead so cut my fringe back in lol.

Look what I found in the charity shop today! Tom's taken a shining to it. Today we had our half term visit to the dentist. Eldest son needs to get an electric toothbrush, and second son needs to stop drinking squash and I got fitted for a mouth guard cos I grind my teeth at night 😂 So we celebrated with a trip to Costa and I visited the charity shops whilst the boys walked home. #crochet#wishicould#grannysquares#blackcat#tomcat#charityshopfinds#thrifting
