Chapter 2 of “Depths of a Tortured Soul” is out now! If you’d like to read “Empty” go to the link below and tell me what you think! If you haven’t read chapter 1, go check that one out now as well. Happy reading!
I’m choosing to publish this story chapter by chapter before it is published so that I can gain more of an audience before it is published. Publishing a book is a lot of work, and it’s even harder to get the word spread around. So, if you like what you’ve read so far, please help me let people know!
If you haven’t done so already, you can also find my first novel “The Man Behind the Canvas” on Amazon by searching up the title along with my name “Jay Taylor”. Or, you can click on the link in my bio. Check it out!

Once the temple was complete and the Priest withdrew from the Holy Place, a cloud descended and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
God was with His people throughout the Old Testament, but the tabernacle was a place where God would dwell within. The Bible refers to us as a temple of the Holy Ghost. #timewarpwife#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#exodus40
Sometimes it's easier to cut corners, and other times it makes sense to do things our own way instead of God's.
The Israelites could've saved saved themselves a lot of time and effort if they simplified God's plan for the tabernacle, but they didn't because they trusted that His wisdom ran deeper than theirs. Every loop and every stitch went according to plan because every minute detail was dictated by God.
The more we read the Word and come to an understanding of His will, the more we find that the details were placed there with purpose. And so we walk by faith adhering to God's Word, whether it fits our agenda or not. #timewarpwife#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#exodus35#exodus36#exodus37
The Complete Adventures of Blinky Bill
From Claire's personal library (Hardcover Special Edition omnibus)
Claire and I read this chapter by chapter together. Tonight we start The Magic Pudding.
Blinky Bill is just as funny as when I was a kid, and probably when my mother was a kid. It's ridiculous and so joyful, and made Claire laugh out loud so many times.
I'm so glad I bought these editions of Blinky Bill, The Magic Pudding, and Snugglepot & Cuddlepie. They're gorgeous, hard wearing, and the illustrations are original and beautiful.
Moses prayed that God would forgive the sins of His people. Moses included himself when he prayed about the stiff-necked sinners.
This is a reminder that we need to humbly pray for others. If we see someone sin, we need to bring that person to prayer.
God is merciful and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but still He doesn't ignore sin. #timewarpwife#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#exodus34#prayer

Moses found grace in the sight of the Lord, and God knew him by name. In the same way, we're saved by grace. Jesus knows each one of His followers by name. We're more than a face in the crowd, or a stranger with a ticket to heaven. We have an intimate relationship with our redeemer and friend. #timewarpwife#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#exodus33#grace
Aaron burned incense in the tabernacle every morning and every night, which is a reminder to be in prayer at all times.
God reminded them to keep the Sabbath. He wanted to ended that as they set out to build the tabernacle, that whey would only work 6 days and rest on the Sabbath. #timewarpwife#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#exodus30#exodus31#prayalways

“In the beginning He made them male and female, the two shall become one flesh, therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.” Matthew 19

Righteousness comes by faith. It's not something we can attain on our own, as it's only through faith in the blood that we're consecrated and free. In the same way, the priesthood wasn't attained by good works. It was a position appointed by God through His grace. They were sanctified by the blood that was poured out on the altar, as a symbol of Jesus' blood poured out for us. By touching the altar, they put their faith in it. Just as some would cling to the altar for safety and refuge, we cling to our Lord.
Sin offerings were handled differently than other offerings as they symbolized the death of Christ for the remission of sins. The flesh was burned outside the camp which symbolized the crucifixion of Christ which took place at Calvary, outside the city of Jerusalem.
The bells seen into the bottom of the priest's robe symbolized a constant communication between God and man that sustained the life of the High Priest. In the same way, prayer is constant communication with God that sustains and quickens the spiritual life of every believer. #timewarpwife#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#exodus28
In reading about the tabernacle in #exodus26 there is SO much detail. It's important to know that our God is detailed, specific, & thoughtful. He's gone to great length to create us- from the number of hairs on our head, to the fingerprints that make us unique. Even though we don't understand at times why things should be done a certain way, we can trust in His wisdom, His design & His purpose. Many of these details are a shadow of things to come- things we might not understand yet, and some things that we do. So we walk in faith trusting His will in lieu of our own. #timewarpwife#biblestudy#chapterbychapter
The 6th & final qualification of the kinsman-redeemer was his responsibility to avenge the murder of a close blood relative.
B/c God created man in His own image, when a human life was taken, the murderer was to be put to death. The close relative, the kinsman-redeemer, was to avenge & put to death the murderer. It was his duty to act as the blood avenger.
We've seen that Jesus left the glories of heaven to take on human flesh so that He could be our kinsman-redeemer, & act as our blood avenger.
Satan is a liar & a murderer. He was a murderer from the beginning when he entered the Garden of Eden & brought about the fall of man. Death came through sin & has spread to all men. Satan brought death to Adam & Eve & to every human being ever since.
Our kinsman- redeemer, Jesus Christ, is our blood avenger b/c He became a close relative when He became a man.
God will act as a blood avenger for Israel when Jesus returns to earth a 2nd time. The nations are going to be judged by God for the way they have treated God's people, Israel. God will avenge the innocent blood that has been shed in Judah & Jerusalem.
Our kinsman-redeemer, Jesus Christ, is going to return from heaven to earth in all His glory!
Jesus is coming in righteous judgement to destroy the wicked, to defeat Satan, & to establish His kingdom & take control of the earth. Satan will be bound for 1000 years, during which time the Lord & His saints will rule & reign upon the earth. There will be one final attempt at rebellion by Satan against God, but it will fail. Satan will then be cast into the lake of fire where he will be tormented day & night forever.
Those of us who've put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will be eternally blessed to enter His kingdom where we'll live w/ our kinsman-redeemer, the King of Kings, & the Lord of Lords, giving praise & worship to our Savior, Jesus Christ, forever & ever!
Just as Ruth put herself at the feet of Boaz & believed his promise to her, we too must humble ourselves, put ourselves at the foot of the cross, & believe the promises of God.
Naomi found hope again b/c the Lord had not left her w/o a redeemer. Our only hope is found in Jesus.
The third qualification of a kinsman-redeemer was that he was to redeem a blood relative from slavery.
Redemption can mean to set free by paying a price. It also means to purchase or ransom.
Spiritually, all of us are in bondage to sin & Satan. We cannot set ourselves free from the power of sin, the penalty of sin, or the presence of sin in our lives.
The only one who can set us free from our sins is Jesus, so we must put our faith in Him. He alone has the power to save & redeem us.
The 4th qualification is that he must be willing to redeem.
Jesus humbly & willingly laid down His life for us when He shed His blood & died on the cross. He gave His life as a ransom for many & purchased us from the slave market of sin to set us free to serve the living God.
The 5th qualification was that he must be able to pay the redemption price.
Jesus' sinless, unblemished shed blood on the cross was the ransom price paid that satisfied God's wrath against the sins of the whole world.
Boaz loved Ruth & redeemed get w/ money so that she could become his wife, but we weren't redeemed w/ perishable things such as silver or gold. We have been eternally redeemed w/ the precious blood of Jesus.
God loved us so much that He Himself provided the ransom price for our sins. God sent His Son into the world to purchase for Himself a bride, the church, w/ His own unblemished blood.
Jesus was willing to pay the redemption price, which was to free us, but came at a great cost to Him. #goodmorninggirls#womenlivingwell#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#ruth#redemption#alovesogreat
Today we studied the second qualification of a kinsman-redeemer. He had to redeem the land.
The nearer kinsman who could've redeemed Ruth but turned down the offer is unnamed.
Forever his name is forgotten. He was unwilling to make the sacrifice to purchase the land that included Ruth & Naomi. But Boaz was willing!
No matter the cost & no matter how it affected his reputation, Boaz was willing to make sacrifices to take on Ruth & Naomi & their land. In the same way, Jesus is willing to redeem us, no matter the cost!
The earth belongs to the Lord b/c God created the heavens & the earth & all that is in it, but God gave man the responsibility to rule over the earth.
The serpent, a manifestation of Satan, entered the garden & tempted the woman to sin by eating of the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve ate & gave it to Adam who also ate of the fruit. It was at this point that man fell, & sin & death entered the world.
God drove Adam & Eve out of the garden of Eden b/c of their sinfulness.
We know that the earth does not rightfully belong to Satan, but to the Lord who created it.
It's believed that the sealed scroll in Revelation, taken away from the hand of God by the Lion of the tribe of Judah, represents the title deed to the earth.
Jesus Christ is the only one who is worthy to take the scroll, redeem the earth, & take back what was lost under Adam. This will put an end to Satan's rule over the earth. Jesus will redeem the earth & rule & reign over it.
Believers will rule & reign w/ Christ as God had originally intended for them to do. We will receive back what was lost under Adam. #goodmorninggirls#womenlivingwell#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#ruth#redemption
Duties of a kinsman-redeemer:
1. He had to be a close blood relative.
2. He was to redeem the land.
3. He was to redeem a blood relative from slavery if they had become so poor they had sold themselves into slavery, which was a common occurrence in ancient Bible times.
4. He must be willing to redeem.
5. He must be able to pay the redemption price.
6. He was also the avenger of blood.
A kinsman-redeemer was to avenge the murder of a close, blood relative. Blood avengers were appointed to kill only a murderer of a close relative, not one who had unintentionally killed a relative. One who committed an unintentional murder could flee to a city of refuge for protection from the blood avenger.
Israel was instructed by God that the shedding of innocent blood was always to be avenged. The Biblical penalty for murder was capital punishment.
The Holy Spirit came upon Mary, who was a virgin, and she conceived a son. God is His Father. Mary gave birth to a flesh and blood baby boy, the Son of the Most High God. Jesus did not cease to be God when He took on humanity. Jesus is fully God and fully man.
When Jesus, who is God, became a man, He fulfilled the requirement and fully qualified to become our Redeemer.
Just as Boaz became Ruth's kinsman-redeemer and redeemed his Gentile bride, so Jesus Christ, our kinsman-redeemer, will redeem His own Gentile bride, the Church.
Jesus is our Bridegroom, and we are His bride. Someday our Bridegroom will come to claim us. He will take us to be with Him forever, and we will celebrate the marriage supper of the Lamb. #goodmorninggirls#womenlivingwell#biblestudy#chapterbychapter#ruth
