So bloody happy with my results this week!! Knocked almost 3.5minutes off my time for a new PB!! Ahh!! Ran/jogged quite a bit of the first lap (besides the hills because well ain’t nobody got time for that!) Just as I was finishing the first lap my back gave out 😩 which meant I walked the first half of lap 2... ended up getting my second wind though and continued on my running journey! So proud of myself! Side note: maybe one day I’ll look good whilst running?! Maybe.... 😂🙈🥵🥵🥵
Life is weird. Life is beautiful and ugly and messy and inspiring and discouraging and depressing and uplifting and incredibly fucking terrifying.
So many changes this past year. It’s been a year of growth and discovery. It has not been easy but I’m looking forward to the future and the possibilities.
I try to remind myself as often as I can how much love I have in my life. How incredibly grateful I am to feel so loved.
May love be the core and essence of everything you do. 🖤🌹 #poetry#life#love#thankful#grateful#christopherpoindexter#lifeisweird#future#changes#growth
2009- A girl who dreamt to apply her knowledge to promote health. She took whatever opportunities she could by shadowing and following professors with their work, yet not scarifying the “university life” by living in university hall and enrolling U-teams.
2019- That girl becomes a woman. She still follows her heart to spread out healthy eating messages. She is appreciated every opportunity given to her. In 10 years, she has taught, she has conducted numerous talks, she has successfully helped many people to lose weight, she has written more than 100 recipes, she has been interviewed by different media, and the biggest achievement, she has written 2 books. .
I do not know what will happen to this lady after another 10 years.
I just wish whatever she does and will do, it’s something she can give her whole-heart and keep the passion in life. Always be curious and not afraid to try. .
My #10yearchallenge .
Yes this is a photo I posted on my story a while back, yes I haven’t had time to film content.
Here’s the thing about life, it kind of knocks you on your butt when you least expect it, and in the midst of all the chaos, you can sometimes forget to be kind to yourself. A fitness journey isn’t perfect. It’s filled with ups and downs & periods of motivation & days where you would rather do anything but go to the gym. The thing is life gets in the way sometimes, we’re human, and it’s normal to feel flawed or imperfect when you have a bad meal, or you skip the gym to catch up on school work. But remember to be kind to yourself, it’s okay to be imperfect. I’m still learning to forgive myself and look past my mistakes and flaws, because it’s all a part of growth.
Sorry for the sappy Friday evening post 💗 hope you’re all having a great night :)
ALSO for those of you wondering what’s in the bowl I roughly just put together:
✨ 1 ripe avocado
✨ 1 whole tomato
✨ 2 grilled Italian sausages (w/ onion) & chopped
✨ scoop of goat cheese
* I also added green onion & cucumber but it’s just under all the food heh heh
Every small change propels you to the grand scheme of transformation in your space and your life. Start somewhere and you will see how organizing your space can give you a sense of peace and tranquility.
there’s no point in me posting a picture of 10 years ago because i was literally 5. therefore, here’s my #5yearchallenge -
on the right, you see “skinny legend” alexia. i am definitely lucky, to grow up in a household where proper nutrition and exercise are a priority, so even when i was younger, i knew how to live healthy. when i was 10, i played lacrosse, and was a dancer and gymnast, so i guess you can say i was decently fit🤸🏻♀️👯♀️
fast forward 5 years, and you have 15 year old alexia. am i a skinny legend here? that’s debatable🤣 but am i trying to be a skinny legend? no. getting into weight lifting and working out regularly has changed my life in so many ways, and gives me a body shape that i am proud of. 💪🏻 my sports right now are volleyball, lacrosse and dance, and being fit from the gym helps me excel in all of my sports.🏐
my main point here, is that if you are on the fence about getting into weight lifting/ working out, just do it. there are so many positive changes that a fit lifestyle can bring into your life, and i can’t stress how glad i am that i started my fitness journey 3 years ago. it may seem confusing and scary at first, but as long as you do proper research and know what you’re doing, it’s much simpler to stick to it. so get out there and do your thing, your future self will thank you😊
