Another amazing canvass tonight—this time in the West Bend. Lots of enthusiasm to paint #ParkHP orange and bring in universal pharmacare! Thanks to tonight's volunteers and all those we connected with at the doors. Your support means a lot. #NDP#cdnpoli

This afternoon and evening in Alcona. This election is about helping you and your family not just get by but get ahead. It’s about what’s important to you and not what’s important to Justin Trudeau and his well connected friends. #Barrie#innisfil#cdnpoli#onpoli#canada#ontario#elxn43

We had an awesome night at a town hall to listen to the only female federal leader in the country -- Elizabeth May. As the leader of @greenpartyofcanadaofficial for the last 13 years, she has been the only female leader that Canada has seen during election periods in decades. It's always a pleasure to get to watch trailblazers in action!
Opposition MPs slammed the Liberals for voting against a motion to have the ethics watchdog testify about his SNC-Lavalin report. •
Liberal MP Steven MacKinnon said he and other Liberal MPs sitting on the committee today voted down the motion because, following Dion's report and hours of testimony on the scandal over a five-week period, there was nothing new to add to their understanding of the SNC-Lavalin affair.
Conservative Deputy Leader Lisa Raitt told the committee that, after months of Liberals saying Dion should be trusted to carry out his investigation of Trudeau, the ethics commissioner should be trusted to testify before the committee.
The commissioner's report, released last week, found that Trudeau improperly pressured then-justice minister and attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould to give Quebec engineering giant SNC-Lavalin a deferred prosecution deal to allow the firm to avoid a looming corruption trial.
Shout out to our #HamCentreNDP phone bankers making contact with neighbours and talking about the issues that matter to Canadians.

Justin Trudeau said in 2015 he would be honest and ethical, but he has time and time again lied to Canadians about this SNC Lavalin Scandal. He is now using his majority again to cover up the truth. He is clearly #notasadvertised .
Glad to hear that there has been progress on #tmx today, but we're far from being able to say "mission accomplished." That can only happen when oil flows through the line for the first time. #cdnpoli#abpoli
Meet your Green Party of Canada candidate for the upcoming Federal election for Winnipeg South.
Paul Bettess has worked on behalf of a healthy environment for 25 years. Now, the professional climate scientist wants to put his skills to work for the voters in Winnipeg South and all Canadians to care for the only Earth home that we all share. “The people, animals, and the environment we live in and with, are increasingly under threat, and I want to share my information, passion, and knowledge to work politically to make vital changes that have to be made quickly. There is no better choice than the Green Party in which to do this in my estimation.” Said Bettess recently to a group of campaign workers.
Paul’s passion for the environment started early. He studied Environmental Science at the University of Manitoba (1997) graduating with a B.Sc. majoring in water toxicology. He was active in the Science Student Association and student government while there.
Along the way, he developed a distinguished career, accumulating an arms-length worth of credentials. Some of the milestones included:
Co-op student at the renowned Experimental Lakes Area.
Resident in a remote field camp while being immersed in the beautiful Canadian Shield with nothing but freshwater lakes and Boreal forest for as far as the eye can see.
Was a grateful student to work alongside some of the leading aquatic researchers in the world, learning how intricate and fragile terrestrial and aquatic food webs are.
Eager learner gaining experience in Hydrology, Chemistry, Zooplankton, and field sampling.
Worked in a private lab that analyzed environmental samples of Hg and MeHg at the Ultra-trace level.
Today, Paul works with Environment and Climate Change Canada as an Environmental Monitoring Technologist measuring water levels in lakes and rivers.
Posted by • @bankymcbankface PLEASE READ: swipe for 3 pages. I took these words from Journalist Rex Murphy, originally from 2005. They originally referred the now-defunct national long gun registry, but the core message for @cityofto has not changed. I merely edited them to reflect the current political pretense and evasion that are calls for “gun bans”. @johntory when are you going to actually tackle this problem with real solutions not fake ones? Stop vilifying and scapegoating Canada’s statistically safest demographic—licensed gun owners— for your cities complex problems that you refuse to address. #guncontrol#gunrights#gunbans#cdnpoli#Toronto#Canada#nogunbans

Two months to go until Election Day! I’m so fortunate to be surrounded by such an incredible group of people on this campaign. Thank you all for your enthusiasm, energy and dedication. Every day is an adventure and I couldn’t be happier to share it with all of you! Here’s to the next two months!
Universities used to teach students HOW to think about issues. Through debate and discussion, students would learn to think critically and to form their own opinions. Now, many university professors are teaching kids what to think, pushing their own personal ideology on their students. Students are punished if they advance ideas that conflict with those of their professors, even if those ideas are well-argued. Students should be free to express their own opinions - it’s part of protecting their freedom to speak, and their freedom to think. #FreeSpeech#Canada#CdnPoli#Ableg#Policy#Freedom#Ideas

To the Liberals on the Ethics Committee: Do what is right and what Canadians expect of you. We will learn today whether or not the scandal and corruption is limited to just the Liberal Party’s leader or if this rot has infected the entire caucus and party.
We know that Justin Trudeau broke the law. Now we need to find out if he committed a crime. Today, with @krystinawaler in St. Catharines, I released my letter to the RCMP asking them to look into Trudeau’s SNC-Lavalin corruption scandal.

As many of you know, I was a delegate at the 2019 Daughters of the Vote summit in Ottawa this past April. During that experience, I met many like-minded young Muslim women from across Canada. We all shared ambitions to make Canada a more vibrant and inclusive place. We snapped group photos with excitement and connected on every platform we could.
Things were positive until I logged on to my social media after a long evening with my new friends, what I found left me in shock. I was in total disbelief when I saw a Facebook post with photos of us visibly Muslim Alberta delegates collaged together and used to spread hate on an alt-right white supremacist Facebook page - without our consent. The post was shared over 1,300 times with hundreds of hateful, disgusting, charged comments underneath it, some inciting violence and others calling us “A threat to the nation”. Our stories, our names, and our faces were used to push a hateful message.
Each of our reactions to this were unique, but we all felt hurt and outrage. Islamophobia is on the rise in Canada, Muslims across North America are constantly being attacked & misrepresented so I decided to do something about it.
What I have created is a portrait series called ‘Flip The Script’, featuring my fellow DOV delegates in the Facebook post who received backlash and other young Muslim women who have faced discrimination. The aim of this portrait series is to RECLAIM our narrative by telling our own story. This portrait series is us taking ownership, using our likeness to create positive representation amidst our current toxic social/political climate. With this portrait series we hope to spread awareness about the injustices we face daily, and spread a message that we stand for unity, not division.
This post features all eight portraits, I will soon post the stories behind each featured portrait here on Instagram. In the mean time, the full experience is posted on Facebook, check the link in my bio. The next post will be details on the event I am hosting surrounding this issue.
