"We're late," she said, "The show is supposed to start in ten minutes. If some people hadn't decided that 'semiformal' meant 'seminaked'-" "Why are you calling me 'some people'?" Mark inquired. "I am only one person."
I am so inlove with this series when I first finish them and totally obsessing with the books. But now that I finally read them again some of my opinion and thoughts change.
First the writing. I like how Cassie writes a book and definitely so obsessed with it now. I find her writing very descriptional and definitional (if there's a word like that) but I find it somehow tiring in this book.
The world building is fantastic. I love the angel, demons, vampire, faeries, werewolves and warlocks combination. I love how the power/ magic system in here. Obviously one of my most favorite fiction world.
The main character was so hard to love. I get how she gets to be like that but I find her stupidity and idiocity really unrealistic and way too much to be expected. I just find the main character really annoying but it does work in the story. The rest I like them.
The issues I have for this book was a little of the writing which I mentioned earlier to be a little bit tiring. The main character annoyed me so much.AND FOR THE PLOT TWIST. Before, I'm so obsessed with it but after reading it again and having to watch a review about this book I realized that the plot twist kind of disturb me. (SPOILER!) I like how it totally blew me away like I wasn't expecting that at all, what I don't is that the concept of a brother and sister going on starting the end of the book. I get that it's for nerve wrecking and crazy reader impact on readers but romanticing brother and sister isn't cool at all, it's just my opinion but people won't get to know what eventually happened that rest of the series if we stop in the first book and the opinion will stay the same and I'm so thankful that I finished the series.
Overall I'm still in love with this book , love the world building so much and I recommend people to read the whole series and the next series since it gets better and better 💙
P.S I don't recommend this series for someone who is sensitive with Jaime and Cersi thing .
Qotd: What is your current read?
Cassandra Clare’s shadowhunter world is so captivating and enchanting, I can never get enough of it ➰
Queen of Air and Darkness came out pretty recently in December and I was not disappointed. A wonderful end (at least for now) to the story of a family who seems to survive nearly everything, Queen of Air and Darkness was one of the most creative books in the Shadowhunter world and I was not underwhelmed!
