This week’s #whiskeywednesday is a doozie of a product. Named after Highland Park’s founder Magnus Eunson, Magnus was a butcher and church officer by day and bootlegger by night. His spicy Viking background and attention to detail gave way to product that begs to be enjoyed. Sweet, light peat and approachable for whiskey drinkers at any level- we’re growing some hair on our chest with this one ☝🏼
#ad As many of you know, I’m always a fan of a colorful mural☺️. However, this mural is different than all the rest. This beautiful mural in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood is bringing the topic of financial abuse and domestic violence into the conversation.
Did you know that 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime? Did you know that 99% of the time, these domestic violence cases include financial abuse? Victims often stay in abusive relationships because they may not have the financial resources to leave.
I’m excited and proud to team up with Allstate Foundation Purple Purse because they’ve made it their mission to empower others and to help break the cycle of domestic violence. Through financial empowerment, @allstatepurplepurse believes that victims can break free from abusive situations.
If you want to spread the silent issue of financial abuse and live in the Seattle area, you can visit this amazing mural on 11th and Pike💜. Take a photo with the Purple Purse mural and use the moon filter on Instagram to see the hidden message! You can also learn more about how to join in the fight against financial abuse and domestic violence by visiting purplepurse.com or clicking the link in my bio! #PurplePurse#SeattleWalls#capitolhillneighborhood#seattleblogger#SeattleWashington#SafeWayOut

In Seattle to play gigs for just a few days, then off to the Mountain States for tour. This here is public art on a telephone pole on my old block on Capitol Hill; the entire pole is now a 3D collage. There's public art everywhere in Seattle - the only cities with a scene that can compare, in my experience, are Hamburg Germany and Oakland California. I'm curious, now that Seattle is becoming more expensive and more crowded (it's America's fastest growing city): how will that affect the public art? I know a lot of musicians that have been priced out of Seattle and moved away, so will it be the same for the people who make art cars, murals & spontaneous installations like this one? As a city grows, how does it hold onto its soul - that is, all the wonderful things that drew people to it in the first place? #seattle#capitolhill#publicart#capitolhillseattle#found#spotted#urbanexplorer#urbanhike#cityhike#capitolhillneighborhood
