They say the hardest wave in the set to ride is the first one. Usually walled off and closed out. Better to paddle through it and take off on one of the next ones. Occasionally when it's glassy, however, the first wave of the set offers the smoothest drop in. I say take it. Paddle to the peak. Pick left or right. Charge your drop in. Bend your knees. Maybe grab the rail. And slide down the face. So that your bottom turn never really happens. And you find yourself shooting the tube, getting barreled, and emerging reborn... Adrenaline dripping out your ears as you grab your stick and paddle out for another ride.
Hanging with these salty ladies last week was so much fun. They are such badass surfers and humans. #surfer#sandiego

(1/3) One of the pictures from Monday morning’s visit to Slab City, an old artist commune and home to squatters, eccentric retirees and people living on the fringes of society for decades now.
Went out to Palm Springs on a girls trip with one of my oldest friends, and we were so jetlagged that we woke up at 4am and decided to hit the road to see this place in person.
🥕Haz tu pedido! #CarrotCake#CipactliBakery#LineaClasica
It was my first @profsk8rsassoc Figure Skating U.S. Open experience and I enjoyed every bits of it. I got to meet many amazing skaters and people from all across America. It was such an honor to be able to share the ice with them. Also.... skated infront of Frank Caroll!!!!!!!!!! I met Kurt Browning too!
First day I arrived in Palm Springs I got sick so badly, I was so upset bC I can’t hang out with my friends other than laying in bed. I took a bunch of medicines just to get me thru the day and practices, also a lot of wellness shots.
But I am so happy @americanicetheatre_ny we have come so far. I am so happy we share this moment together. My solo felt great, I skated with all my heart. My group number with @americanicetheatre Boston was the highlight of the day (you’ll see my photo in a pink leotard soon 🤤) I never have thought I would be able to do all these things.. I am grateful 🌹
Last week was about estimating your retirement goals. This week is about ways to help you manifest that goal into existence.
Let’s say that your goal is to have $1 million in your portfolio when you reach age 65. The amount you need to SAVE and INVEST depends on your age and adjusted for inflation (~2%) every year. Based on an investment that grows at 6%: A 25 yr old would need to invest $90/week or $4,672/yr
A 35 yr old would need to invest $185/week or $9,597/yr
A 40 yr old would need to invest $274/week or $14,233/yr
A 50 yr old would need to invest $691/week or $35,915/yr
There is no doubt that there are lots of people NOT earning 6% per year on their RRSPs or TFSAs. If this is the case, then you should revisit your investment strategies because a 6% return is really not that hard to do!
It is a lot easier when you start saving at an early age. Even when money is tight, if you stick to a budget and setup an automatic weekly or monthly withdrawal, you likely won’t even notice. I know many people who procrastinate and say they will start NEXT YEAR when cash flow is “BETTER”. Trust me… you are just getting yourself into trouble.
You are working hard to build up your life savings, so make sure that your retirement income plans are as efficient as possible so that you can properly enjoy the retirement you deserve. Let’s talk and start TODAY!
So from what I hear if you go past sky harbor on #millertonlake and then turn south to go around #bigbend and continue on... you will eventually find beaches and camping and places to Anchor down and enjoy. We have never been passed big bend and wanted to spend a bit of our day exploring “uncharted waters” (for us). We #sailed from the @millertonmarina all the way to about sky harbor and then dropped them down and turned the motor on. We cruised up the #river and started noticing a lot of #cows on the banks and some Flat top mountains on the horizon. We motored passed them and the river widened out a lot but the storm came in. Winds picked up and the sky got dark. We used a tarp to fashion a tent over the cockpit to keep dry and Brittany went below deck to stay dry out of the rain and wind. I went up the river for about an hour and a half until I decided to turn back so we could be home at a decent time. We pulled back into our slip as the storm really let lose. Just in time. Has anyone ever been up that river further - passed the flat top mountain range east of the big bend? How much further do I have to go to find those spots? What are they called? #rameyfamily#adventure#sailing#boat#sailboat#boating#funonthelake#fresno#ca#california#centralvalley#yacht#river#camping
