All week I’ve been nonstop working to the point where I’ve pulled all-nighters and neglected people and other things that weren’t prioritized. Hopefully this weekend proves to be a breather and I can get some other, non-academic matters, sorted out
B U R N O U T.
As many of you know, this is a topic close to my heart. After suffering burnout, hashimotos & adrenal fatigue I have to be vigilant about my health these days. I simply can’t operate in the old paradigm, I’m unable to push through like I used to, I can’t exercise in the same way, I can’t eat whatever I want, everything I do, say, think & consume is governed by how my body responds.
I’m currently in bed dealing with a delightful shingles flare up, after pushing myself a bit too hard the last few weeks 😒
I coach a lot of smart, talented & very driven women in my work as a leadership coach, and I see the warning signs in many of them walking the same path I did. I do my best to gently make them aware of the dangers that come with constantly striving & pushing forward. However they must decide for themselves how they want to mitigate the risk. If the consequence of driving themselves that hard is worth it. The answer can only be, no.
We all get to decide the kind of like we want to live, we don’t have to buy into a lifestyle much of society tells us to live. We can live more simply, without all the stuff that clogs our houses & minds. We can make different choices, we get to start each day fresh.
@garancedore has posted about this on her Instagram feed titled Honour Timing. I highly recommend it. 📷 RG from Fiona @mydailybusinesscoach with love x 💖
Went to check out @mountainsidefit today. I liked it! First time in. It’s super convenient since it’s a mile from my house. May just have to add ANOTHER gym membership to the key chain 🙈
Shoulders and arms today💪🏽 I love lifting shoulders. There's something about a shoulder pump that gets me in such a great mood. Here, I'm hitting triceps first to completely burn them out so when I get to the Arnold press my muscle recruitment has no choice but to go straight to the prime mover, the shoulders. 👌🏽
Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path.

Happy Saturday! I’m taking some time to rest, reflect, and set intentions for the week. I thought I’d share a few reminders I’ve been journalling about recently…
💕You can move away from emotions that do not serve you (and when you can’t, let yourself fully experience them because they are telling you something)
💕You can trust yourself to know your priorities and what’s most important to you
💕You can give yourself permission to stop beating yourself up (because it never makes you feel better)
💕You can allow yourself to change your beliefs, perspective and goals even when others disagree
💕You can choose to care less about things that are causing you stress because only you can change your thoughts (thinking about something till midnight that someone else forgot about days ago is not helpful)
💛Question: Do any of these resonate for you in particular? I’m happy to give more details on any of these you need some support with 😊✨Let me know!
Being obsessed with an activity for a sole reason of winning or fame would cause burnout but it is less likely to occur when we simply enjoy or have a passion for whatever it is we’re doing. Getting 7-9 hours of sleep. Balancing your activity with something else. And disconnecting from your digital device. .
