I bought this at Target. It's a robotics toy thingy. I always had an interest in robotics for some years but never tried going into the field of it. Anyway I got this to mess with and to learn/understand how the robot/s work and to learn how to program them to do stuff. - Kiara
Kalvin is always wanting to create and build things. So when I saw this robot building kit I had to get it for him. Plus in his note to Santa he said he wanted a robot that would do his chores for him.....well if he wants that he's gonna have to work for it and learn how to build it himself! Haha. He has spent the last 2 day from sun up until way past sun down building robots<3 there have been a few meltdowns on his part and mine but it really is a great outlet for him and perhaps good for my "mess anxiety". #kalvin#kalvinthecreator#buildingrobots#robots#kalvinisseven#harrischristmas2018#december2018
Working on the inner frame of a prototype robot i am building for my daugther y'day. Pretty much an arduino taking care of the analog stuff while pi will be driving the app. Keeping the core expandable to ROS. Anyway, will be working on the the robot physical look before getting into the system.
Alright Mamas, if you are fighting the holiday Mom guilt, like so many of us, this is your reminder you have got this. 😉 The size, cost, and number of presents under that tree do NOT matter! ❄
The reality is our children just want to destroy our kitchens to make their robots, play with the boxes, and spend time baking cookies and seeing how many they can get away with eating before we notice.
Seriously though, it is about the moments. I find myself questioning and re-questioning if we have done enough. We are not huge gift givers in our house and we hand make many of them. As a mother I find myself questioning if we are doing enough, or if we are some how ruining their lives by not spoiling them to pieces at Christmas. Then I realize that I sound like a crazy person. I would never judge someone for what magic they could provide for their family at the holidays. So, why am I judging myself. The season is about the togetherness and the intangible gifts, and thankfully time with my kids building robots with every kitchen item I own is a perfect gift I can share with them any time of the year. 🎁
I love this kid, and am so proud of him. He has his 1st middle school basketball game today. Go Wilder Wolverines! @wilder_middle His Robotics team also have their first Tech Challenge tournament on Saturday at Byrd High School. They had to design, build, program and operate robots 🤖 of their own design to play a floor game in an alliance format. How cool is that? I know I give him a hard time once in a blue moon, but I gotta remember he’s only been on this earth for 11 years😩 He’s still my baby! #ballislife#dreamchaser2025#wildermiddleschool#firsttechchallenge#buildingrobots#futureengineer#STEM#GYSA
