Let me tell you a story:
So, I used to be incredibly shy. PAINFULLY shy. That may come as a shock to some of you, but I'm sure others remember that quiet version of me very well.
Twelve years ago during the first semester of my JR. year of high school, I was in an acting class. The same acting class I had been in every year. I had no interest (or the talent! 😂) to take anything more advanced, but I enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendships.
Anyway, six weeks into this particular semester, we were asked to retrieve our folders and prepare our monologues. Some kid (again, after being in the same ACTING class as me for SIX WHOLE WEEKS!) looks at my folder and says "Brooke? Who's BROOKE?" Offended, I stood and said "I'M Brooke." Then I snatched my folder from his hands and stalked away. 😂😂😂 Somehow that semester, that kid became one of the closest and longest-cherished friends I've ever had. A dozen (holy cow) years later this month, give or take a week, and he's still family. A second sibling. My brother from another mother. The Ted to my lady version of Marshall. One of only two (maybe three) friendships where I know that if/when life takes us down different paths and to different places, we'll stay in touch and remain best buddies.
Even though I want to punch him in the face about half the time. 😉
Back from the vet and sleeping soundly with his buddies as the sedative wears off ❤️ Scooter’s biopsy went well - fortunately they did not need to fully anesthetize him which is ideal since the recovery process for anesthesia is riskier for brachycephalic breeds. In about a week we will know what the composition of the growth in his gums is and we will take it from there. Possibilities range from very a basic cosmetic issue to a more serious and invasive diagnosis but either way he’s in god hands at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital 😊
You know those few people that no matter where you are in life or geographically in the world make you feel like you’re right back at home where you grew up? That’s these two for me, these guys are the guys I miss constantly and am always looking forward to that next big or small adventure with.
I’m right in the middle, one is five years older the other five years younger and I love both of them for being so dang ugly that all I have to do is stand in the middle of them and I quickly become a solid four on a scale from 1-10 😜. Yuri is constantly trying to manipulate me and Cameron to do exactly what he wants to do with partial truths and blatant lies like, “Cameron, I already paid for you to run the race so you have to do it or I’m out $100”. When in reality he really hadn’t signed him up yet and the race was only $15. But in the end it always makes for some great stories.
And then there’s Cameron who is constantly ignoring our text messages and phone calls in fear that we are going to invite him to do something that he might actually want to do when in reality we’re just as excited with a text back as we are when he actually hangs out with us. He lives a life that revolves around playing hard to get, even with his brothers. Someday we’ll tell him that that game is usually played with the opposite sex when courting.
And then there’s me, the responsible, honest, serious, uptight, planned out, responsive, and sober one 😂🤣. Anyways, I woke up missing you guys, I wish we lived closer.
