Let's talk first looks! When I talk with clients about their big day, one of my first question is will you be doing a first look? What usually results in my couple asking...What the heck is first look? .
A "first look" is when a couple sees each other on their wedding day before their wedding ceremony. It is a private moment for the couple, away from the eyes of family and friends.
Some couples choose not to do a first look for many excellent reasons and it's not for everyone.
I personally love ♥️ love first looks and here's a few reasons why... You'll get to see each other before the ceremony. Any stress, fears, jitters, or nerves will be gone by the time the ceremony starts.
If you're going to cry when you see each other for the first time, you'll be able to freshen up before the ceremony! (This was totally me!😁) I still cried at our ceremony too 😭
You won't miss cocktail hour if we take your portraits and your family formal portraits before the ceremony
Privacy- This was the main reason my husband and I decided on a first look. I wanted a calm quiet moment that was just us.You won't have anyone's eyes on you, no guests will be taking pictures. It will be a moment that is yours, and yours alone
You'll have more time together to emote. If you wait until your ceremony, you have to get right into the ceremony itself. If you do a first look on the wedding day, you'll be able to hold each other and be in the moment as long as you'd like
If you're having a winter wedding, and it's going to get dark early, you can have your portraits taken outside in beautiful, natural light☀️
This is the same face he makes when I tell him I made Mini Meatloafs for dinner. Jake - why do you love Mini-Meatloafs so much?
But anyways, on the topic of dinner, we definitely didn’t have the intention of me staying home after we moved but that’s just how it’s worked out so far. I’m still in the process of looking for a job down here, but in the mean time, we’ve both been surprised by how easy it’s been, and how much we like, falling into these traditional rolls where he goes to work and I stay home. I’ve been working since I turned 16 and he started working from home since he was about 18, so it’s a huge roll reversal from what we were doing before. But I have so greatly enjoyed getting to keep a home for us, take care of the pup, learn to cook, meal prep, get ahead of my health, get into a gym routine, spend more time in my bible, learn new creative tools to pursue hobbies and interests that I would love to eventually develop into work - and I’m so genuinely grateful to this sweet man for not only allowing and making it possible, but for encouraging me not just to take any rando job, but to invest in things that make me happy every day and that actually matter to me. We’ve had a lot of new, changing dynamics and different seasons over the span of the last 8 years, and I think this one has been my favorite so far.
We are in awe of this magnificent dress. The stunning open back style totally brings an extravagant and ethereal feel altogether. Isn't it such a stunner? Leave a 'Yes' below! 😍 Tag your BFFs who would like this ...
