«IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO DO- WHAT IS THE POINT OF DOING IT?» Picasso
For yeears I thought I knew what to do and that I was gonna do it: work. Out. My. Bum.
Well, it happens to be a stubborn one and let me tell you I used to think I knew what I was doing but had no clue whatsoever.
However, as the month’s’ been passing buy I’ve learned the hard way that I knew nothing about muscle activation (FOR TEN YEARS, LINDA!).
It’s taken time, learning, feeling the muscles contracting, trying different angles and you NAME IT.
So instead of minding my own bussiness let me tell you muscle activation is really cool. For ME it’s everything. So much that I do it prior to eeevery lower body workout. Why? Because the bum happens to be the most inactive muscle we got because frankly we sit a lot, we lay down a lot. It needs to wake up! 🐣
Now that (long caption😂) being said, it took me half an hour for my right side to get activated. It rarely happens, it’s weird, but the body and our muscles are complex.
Every individual person’s anatomy, muscle group, every working fibre— but THESE happen to work for me 🗣💫
Maybe they’ll specifically work for YOU, maybe others do, but muscle activation surely is key! 🧘🏻♀️

Pistol Squats on a Bosu Ball have been my favorite exercise for years, it helped with my balance for dance especially. With climbing it helps me to power off of my legs & being short it’s super helpful. I hold my foot because it makes it a little harder!
I only do 5 reps on each foot & 3 sets because this exercise is leg day all by itself...trust me you’ll feel it after 2 days😩☠️ Regular pistol squats are hard as is but once you can do around 5-10 reps & 3 sets on each leg, try adding the Bosu Ball.
It’s difficult to even get used to standing in the center and balancing on one leg on the Bosu Ball so work up to it if you want try & tag me if anyone tries this!!! #rockclimbing#bouldering#climbingtraining#pistolsquat#bosuballworkout#letsclimbchicago#firstascentavondale#climbinggym#ignoremyroots

Bosu Balance Ball is a versatile piece of equipment to build strength,💪 cardiorespiratory stamina, 🏃& just like it's name...improve & challenge your balance.👼 The Bosu may be half a ball but both sides can be utilized for a variety of full body workouts! The video shows a couple options for the dome side up🔮, like the video for more bosu exercises tomorrow with the flat side up! 🕳
Burpees are getting boring for me🙃
Testing my core strength, hops and balance with this one. No lie, the hardest part of this one was getting down from the BOSU ball. Lol
