We were supposed to be best friends
But turned out to be worst enemies…
They say revenge is a dish best served cold
I’d had four years to stew on what Daria Followhill did to me, and now my heart was completely iced.
I took her first kiss.
She took the only thing I loved.
I was poor.
She was rich.
The good thing about circumstances? They can change. Fast.
Now, I’m her parents’ latest shiny project.
Her housemate. Her tormentor. The captain of the rival football team she hates so much.
Yeah, baby girl, say it—I’m your foster brother.
There’s a price to pay for ruining the only good thing in my life, and she’s about to shell out some serious tears.
Daria Followhill thinks she is THE queen. I’m about to prove to her that she’s nothing but a spoiled princess.
Everyone loves a good old unapologetic punk.
But being a bitch? Oh, you get slammed for every snarky comment, cynical eye roll, and foot you put in your adversaries’ way.
The thing about stiletto heels is that they make a hell of a dent when you walk all over the people who try to hurt you.
In Penn Scully’s case, I pierced his heart until he bled out, then left it in a trash can on a bright summer day.
Four years ago, he asked me to save all my firsts for him.
Now he lives across the hall, and I want nothing more than to be his last everything.
His parting words when he gave me his heart were that nothing in this world is free.
Now? Now he is making me pay.
There is this girl i see everyday. Familiar but yet so unaquainted. Beautiful eyes hiding agony, the pink lips ready to fret out frustration but that unnerving smile does an excellent job of being just the perfect disguise. She takes a stroll in the garden of hopelessness and i witness her bath in her own misery. They say she used to be as jubilant as the wind, as loquacious as the rivers and as happy as the moon would be to meet the sun. So what happened? Why did the laughter leave and where did the insaneness hide?
No matter the reason or the excuse as they say, i despise her for giving up so soon, for being a weakling in this sturdy world. I condemn her cause she chose to cease the pain and become just another numb creature.
Who is she??
An open book once but now an enigma to herself. She is the prostitute of solitude. She is my reflection.
7 in the morning. He could hear his mom shouting. Why was she like this? Every single morning. She could keep alarms but no, had to shout on the top of her voice every single day to wake him up. Oh, was she annoying. Asking every single thing that happened at school. She never understood how long a day it was in the scorching heat and monotonous lectures. And that didn't stop there, there was the rest of the day left to be dealt with. He thought it was strange that teenagers were the ones found to be irritating.
He finally came back from work. 11, the clock showed. It was tiring, just like school. Only this time, there was no one to listen to him. He tried filling the void in his heart through many ways. But even now, the word ‘mother’ brings a tear, with every blink.
☕️ good morning.....
I’m still reading this. It’s good, but I had a bad April as far as time restraints for reading. Plus I keep starting new books 🙈
Do you read multiple books at once, or are you literarily monogamous?
I’m a full-blown book whore. I read so many at once- can’t keep my hands off them.

I found this rare 1930's copy of Three Plays by A. A. Milne lurking inside Paradise Bookshop in Daylesford.
Although he is best known for his work on Winnie-the-Pooh, he was a brilliant playwright.
The smell, feel and character of this worn but much loved copy of this book is charming.
Here's my edit for Bound by honor by cora reilly..You can check out my review in my previous post.
Born into one of the leading Mob families in Chicago, Aria Scuderi struggles to find her own path in a world where no choices are given. Aria was only fifteen when her parents betrothed her to Luca – The Vice – Vitiello, the oldest son of the head of the New York Cosa Nostra to ensure peace between the two families. .
Now with eighteen, the day Aria has been dreading for years is looming dangerously: her wedding to Luca. .
Aria is terrified of marrying a man she hardly knows, especially someone like Luca who got his nickname ‘the Vice’ for crushing a man’s throat with his bare hands. Luca might be one of the most sought after men in New York thanks to his good looks, wealth and predator-like charisma that radiates power, but the society girls throwing themselves at him don’t know what Aria does: that the bad boy aura isn’t just a game; blood and death lurk beneath Luca’s striking gray eyes and arrogant smile.
In her world a handsome exterior often hides the monster within; a monster who can just as easily kill as kiss you.
The only way to escape the marriage to Luca would be to run away and leave everything she’s ever known behind but Aria can’t bear the thought of never seeing her family again.
Despite her fear, she decides to go through with the marriage; Aria has grown up among predators like Luca and knows that even most cold-hearted bastards have a heart and she has every intention of working her way into Luca’s
