just finding myself again - hey y’all, hope everyone is doing well. i’ve been delving a lot into indigenous scholarship lately to find connections between us and our landscapes for my research; it really has me thinking about my own histories aside from landscapes.
today, i rummaged around some books and old history in Denver trying to find bits of the world lost and needing a story. i feel sorta the same way, lost and looking for a story.
most days are transit days, between life and death. this week has been filled with these things i call “SUPER transit days.” aimlessly running around from point-to-point hoping i’ll stumble upon a story along the way. rummaging reminded me to delve into my own histories to find different stories. remembering you’re human is enlightening to say the least.
✈️📕Theres no better way to fly than with a great book📕✈️
. . .
Heading east for a lightning quick trip to pick up my snuggle bug! (My cat 😋) I’m so nervous, I’ve never flown with a pet before, but she’s so well behaved I think she’ll be cooler about it than me. 🙈
. . .
That being said, I can never fly without a good read and this flight is all about my gal #AgathaChristie 🥰It’s been so long since I’ve read Death on the Nile, and with it’s imminent film release I need to give it another quick read!
. . .
Anyone else love them some mystery novels/ Hercule Poirot? 🕵🏼♂️
Fell instantly in love with this luminous bookstore/coffee shop hybrid decked with tons of greenery and the cutest take out window a few blocks from our hotel in Tokyo. It just so happened to have the cutest tiny car parked by it too, and a @papiertigram shop right around the corner. The kind of happenstance discovery that make me ridiculously happy! ✨
“Some say they get lost in books, but I find myself, again and again, in the pages of a good book. Humanly speaking, there is no greater teacher, no greater therapist, no greater healer of the soul, than a well-stocked library.”
I’m off for most of the day volunteering for the local symphony. I get to see Peter & The Wolf in the midst of it all. Are you up to anything good this weekend?
