Have you made ✌🏼 ☮️ with your belly?
It’s been a couple of years now since I started becoming aware of how much I was pulling my belly in instead of just letting my belly release and relax naturally.
As a culture we are taught to “suck in” our tummies and sit up straight? From that cue alone we’re taught not to take up space in the world by “flattening” our tummies.
When I learnt about DNS and 3 dimensional Intrabdominal breathing and why babies have amazing bellies that stick out and why that’s important for the expansion of the diaphragm and stabilization when breathing, I started encouraging more tummy relaxation and softness into my own body.
Ever see a baby walking around pulling in their tummies and yet witnessing the strength that comes from a babies body when they are learning how to crawl and walk? It’s unbelievable! :
Would you tell a baby to “suck it in?” So why you? :
It’s taken me a long time to get here! In fact I was the person with the washboard six pack that everyone admired! If you told me this 6 years ago I’d think you were nuts! There’s no going back now. I’ve never loved and appreciated my tummy more than I do now.
Give it a try and notice how you feel. Having the ability to relax and soften your belly is a good thing. Let me know how it feels and what it is you love about your tummy? 💜👇🏼
Was esst ihr am liebsten von außerhalb?

For those who may be unfamiliar or new to the HAES paradigm, this is an opportunity and invitation to learn! Health At Every Size means that we support ALL HUMANS in ALL BODIES in engaging in health promoting behaviors and that there are countless factors that influence an individual’s well-being. This means we are unable to tell how healthy someone is based on weight and size. Size discrimination often leads to ineffective (and often harmful) interventions rather than health promoting efforts. Additionally, this bias leads to missed diagnoses when a thin person ‘looks healthy’. We also never want to assumes that health is the most important thing that person *should* be pursuing, that health is even attainable for every human, or that a human is morally superior for choosing to pursue health.
You may be wondering, “But aren’t there weights that can indicate a person isn’t in good health? Such as an adult suffering from Anorexia Nervosa who appears emaciated or a person in a larger body who is unable to use the stairs?”
A: In putting the human before the specific weight, we are able to explore all of the factors that are affecting an individual’s well-being. In other words, we are able to see and treat the whole human. When we don’t put the weight first, we are able to investigate further, asking more questions, learning about their individual circumstances and can respect their wishes. This allows us to support people in making choices about their well-being instead of us telling them what to do. We approach care as a collaboration and as if we are wearing special blinders so appearance isn’t a factor. If we are wearing the blinders, we are forced to observe trends in how quickly weight may have been lost or gained, trauma and dieting history, behavior changes, details of their day to day life, their unique abilities, values, and so much more.
So the short answer is that both humans in the question above *could be* suffering from malnutrition, and if we put on our weight bias free blinders and do a thorough job of assessing, we will find out the status of their health and potential interventions from a place of collaboration instead of assumption.
Yoga practice the art is to learn to pay attention to ourselves, to the subtle minute movements of breath and body. The actual practice of listening can weave into the fabric of our daily living, learning to stay in the discomfort, finding our centers of home, even when we are in a new environment. We learn that the art of steady, compassionate, non-judgemental listening to the subtle which is never separate from us, this grounded knowledge is my life-saver off the yoga mat.
The body becomes our safe place, as life challenge us and ROARS loudly we learn to find home in our body. We learn to accept that this too shall pass, we become attuned to the transitions of experience as impermanent, and with that we adjust to living well.

✨Self Love with Loose Skin!✨ 48in+ Waist to currently 28in. (i put the + because this measurement was taken after i was already 20lbs down.)
it was inevitable that i would have loose skin on my belly! there was no teas, shakes, wraps, or IF that could save me from hanging skin! (sorry to break it to you- Don't fall for scams babe)
i prepared for it mentally. i KNEW i'd end up with it. but when i actually started to see it, i freaked out. and for a while i struggled with it!
i thought "after all my hard work, why must i again hate the way my body looks? why can't my body just form to a flat tummy without my belly button being hidden by my skin and an extra flappy bottom?"
then i Realized, this MINDSET was negative!
Yes- i Did work hard!!
but NO. after treating my body horribly for 20yrs+ it was not just going to magically shrink back to perfection! i stretched my stomach out to the Max! so of course it would be deflated now.
the problem was i needed to Fix my Mindset.
i Saved myself from a life of unneeded pain, disease, mental issues, and pre-mature death!
i should be Proud of my loose skin!
Proud of myself for Saving my Own Life!
and i can honestly say Loose Skin is No Longer a negative to me! it shows all my hard work and it's Just Skin!!!
so if Loose Skin is holding you back from becoming healthy DONT LET IT!
Happy Thursday Babes🖤 •••••

Today I’m #freeto not be perfect. .
Perfectionism, judgement, comparison all the thief of our own joy. The joy we feel from making progress. Progress that is of our own making. Don’t let that kind of negativity sabotage the outcomes we all want. .
Big love to everyone making progress, making plans, setting goals and working to stay positive. ❤️

Here’s the deal ➡️ So many people focus on workouts or their diet with trying to get healthy and miss out on their mental and spiritual health! 😥 Truth is that HEALTH is not just what we eat or drink. It’s not just how we treat our bodies physically. True health incorporates mind, body, and spirit. .
Being healthy involves not only feeding your body, but feeding your MIND and SOUL with thoughts that bring joy and happiness to your life; Thoughts that lift you higher, not ones that bring you down 💥🌟💜
It involves surrounding yourself with people that are going to ADD to your life & help you be the best version of yourself- not surrounding yourself with toxic people that create shame, sadness, negativity, or foster bad habits. .
Don’t forget to take care of yourself in ALL aspects. Don’t forget to work on that self love and self care daily, to feed your mind the fertilizer of positivity, and ensure that your environment helps you grow, not wither away🌟💥♥️
How does this resonate with you? Want or need help overcoming this and or more? Drop me a 🍪 below and let’s get started 🌟

So anyone who really knows me, knows my long history with #photography + #videography - I use to have a business at uni many many MANY years ago now
Also had a team of creators who did fashion shows, variety shows, modelling, raves and more (I even did a pregnant shoot once, whilst at uni - don't ask)
It helped me to pay for a number of things when money was low; I was getting my education but also tiding myself over with one of my hobbies
Seems photography isn't done with me, as I might be done with it because I still do a lot of our member engagement with photography/videography, not officially but live recordings, snippets for social media, powerful emotive FOMO type content etc.
Have you ever heard of a photographer who's afraid of actually being in front of the camera themselves? 😅
Sharing this throwback because it's almost that time of the year again... #ukactiveSweat

Pride, intense fear, resentments and the ego is but toxic to relationships.
Embrace humility without sacrificing your dignity and you will find that it is easier to say ‘I’m sorry’, ‘I hear you’, ‘You’re right’ and ‘I love you’ when it is most needed.
Followed by it’s beautiful counterpart passion; it is the source of our finest moments, the joy of love, the clarity of hatred and the ecstasy of grief.
Mindfully try to eliminate the negativity of all ego based character defects, be driven by passion and empathy, and watch great things and love flow steadfast into your life, growing you into the best version of yourself abundant with a better more internally peaceful existence ❤️ #model#shoot#shooting#feminine#capetown#indian#bodypositive
I took this photo and in an instant saw how far I’d come.
I love his smile.
I love my smile.
But something new for me... I love that you can see the squish in my skin where he and his sister grew.
I would have deleted this in the past.
But the truth is that my stomach rolls sometimes.
I have cellulite and my stretch marks glisten in the sunlight. ☀️ I have extra skin on my stomach and an umbilical hernia from where my bellybutton ring used to be. 🤷🏻♀️ But for the first time, I’ve begun to see the person my husband sees.
He always says that he doesn’t see the cellulite or stretch marks, but what he really means is that he sees them, but he loves my body anyway.
And you know what?
I do too!
I read somewhere that you don’t believe in body positivity if you are working out and living a healthy lifestyle.
I call BS on that.
Who the heck can decide how YOU feel about YOUR body and if it’s positive or not?
Your husband or friends or parents can tell you that you are beautiful, but YOU are the one that needs to believe it.
For me, being healthy & working out has helped me to love myself and those things I used to find imperfect.
I love the rush I get after a good sweat.
I love knowing that I’ve filled my body with good food.
I love knowing that my superfood shake is literally changing me from the inside out.
I love knowing that my habits can be passed onto my children.
I love that the ACTIONS dictate who I see in the mirror and not the number on the scale or the pants size.
The ACTIONS make me body positive, not because I hate myself or want to punish myself, but because the ACTIONS help me feel good both inside and out.
When you hate something, you battle with it.
So instead, I choose love.
PS: If you need help finding that love for yourself, you know where to find me!
Dopamine is a chemical released by your body when you eat your favourite food, listen to music or get that paycheck at the end of the month! It helps us to see the rewards and further work towards them, leading to motivation. Low dopamine levels have been linked to difficulties in thinking, having a slow reaction time and an inability to stay productive.
1. An increase in the amount of amino acids tyrosine and phenylalanine in the diet can increase the levels of dopamine in the brain. These two amino acids are naturally found in protein-rich foods like eggs, soy, meat and legumes.
2. Studies have shown that a diet very high in saturated fats, like palm oil, animal fat and butter, has been linked to a disruption in the dopamine signaling system, which leads to a poor reward response.
3. Daily exercise is recommended to promote good mental health. A three-month study showed that performing yoga six days a week increased the levels of dopamine in a senior citizen group.
4. Probiotics enhance ‘good bacteria’. Recent research shows that gut bacteria are capable of producing neurotransmitters like dopamine which may impact our mood and behavior to improve it.
5. Dopamine is released in the morning to promote wakefulness, so not getting enough sleep reduces the dopamine receptors the next day, which causes fatigue and brain fog.
6. Studies show that listening to music increases the activity in the reward and pleasure centres of the brain, which are rich in dopamine receptors.
7. Velvet beans are a natural source of L-Dopa, the precursor molecule to dopamine. A study in patients with Parkinson’s disease showed that consuming 250 grams of cooked velvet beans increased dopamine levels and minimized the symptoms of the disease.
8. The body needs various vitamins and minerals to produce dopamine, including iron, niacin, folate and vitamin B6. Blood work can help you understand if you have deficiencies and you can normalize your levels.
9. Studies have shown that minimal exposure to sunlight reduces dopamine receptors, which is linked to fatigue and depression.
