What an incredible day! In the water for sunup beautiful waves all day!🤙🌊 Lots of new faces, even more familiar ones out there enjoying some #kincardinesurf
Didn’t get a single photo. That’s a good day. Perfect way to end off, little ride before I help close up shop!
Huge Thankyou to the SurfSup squad memebers for going that extra mile and getting people on boards all day today!
200 questions, 5 hours, and a mental game is the right of passage for every Naturopathic Doctor. The first right of passage at least. This exam was by far the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. As if two years of medical school weren’t enough, we had to relearn all the basic sciences for the NPLEX I examination. It was a culmination of anatomy, physiology, histology, embryology, biochemistry, immunology, infectious diseases and pathology.
The exam is split up into structure/function and disease/dysfunction and to pass the exam you have to pass both parts. Despite using every resource under the sun (USMLE Step 1, Paul Anderson videos, and thousands of practice questions) I walked out of the exam knowing maybe 10% of the questions. The rest was a complete crapshoot and was based off of how well I could guess and critically think.
After reading my girl’s post this morning (@plantsandbalance) it made me reflect on how success isn’t measured by scores on a paper or by dollar signs in the bank, it is measured by learning through obstacles and persevering through the difficult times. Life throws us some curveballs, knocks us down and brings us to our knees, but it is when we see through the fog and pick ourselves up is when we become stronger and more successful.
I passed my board exams but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been through failure. I wouldn’t be here now if I hadn’t known what it was like to fail. Because through failure I see my own value and strength, and bounce back than ever before.
Celebrate your triumphs, embrace the obstacles and learn from the process. You are never inadequate ✨
Grüße u.a. von Kai Lenny von der APP World Tour am Long Beach in New York.
