Blue Jay for Mom. Personal care homes can be so sad, especially for the ones that barely leave their room and can't do anything for themselves. And they can barely talk or remember anything. My mother always loved birds. She even had a Myna bird once. She taught me how relaxing it was to just watch them in nature. I was so happy when I gave her this painting and she stared at it for a good 5 minutes. So sweet. I think I will be painting more birds. I used lots of texture and colour so she could see it. She couldnt remember it was called a blue jay, but she gave a big ooohhh when I handed it to her. It's the little things! She taught me that too!

Track 4: Therapy
Artwork by @nhv.y
I remember writing this song while I was enduring a prolonged depressive episode. I felt like nobody cared, but in actuality, I kept contradicting my depression and kept that information to myself instead of reaching out and talking to someone. I broke down one night after finally being unable to deny the fact that I had it. That night, I confided in a friend of mine who battles with severe depression and she comforted me and made me feel like I wasn’t alone. You know who you are. This one’s for you.
I didn’t think I’d type all that, but I thought I’d share anyway because too many people take their own lives due to the repercussions a mental disorder can take on one’s mental health. We need to try and reach out to our friends and family more. Depression is a dark tunnel, but we can be a light in someone’s life. Making music is my form of therapy, and I hope you all find comfort in this song. You’re not alone.
