Une mauvaise foi sans cohérence
Mon idéal tire sa révérence
De ses émotions criminelles
D’une joie de vivre si belle.
Fidèle à mes aspirations
Mais avant tout à mes démons
Le moment présent m’échappe
Piégée dans une trappe.
Mes mains tremblent de peur
La peur de dire adieu
A ces trauma si vieux.

Instagram has removed the number of "likes" our posts receive. How do you feel about it?
I have seen all over Facebook and Instagram today, people talking about the removal of the number of likes a post receives. I've added to this, with my IG story today and now this post.
I've read comments of people who want to know how to remove this feature so their "numbers" can be seen, and others who are rejoicing in the changes. My personal opinion of the change is one of excitement. It is going to be interesting to see how the platform works over the coming weeks.
As a society, I feel that we have become too focused on the attention which our posts receive. How many "Likes", how many comments we receive, the number of reshares and so forth. Why are we so focused on such artificial things? Instagram is rife with people who use automation tools to auto-like, auto-comment and auto-follow/unfollow based on Hashtags used and several other factors. I believe there are also a large number of accounts who purchase likes/followers to get their social proof.
Those that use these tools to be "social" are the ones who are ruining the platforms, for those that want to create and share their content. They post amazing content consistently, however, as they are using the platforms the way they were designed (Without automation and by being social). They don't get the reach and as such may start to feel depressed and stop creating their content.
I feel that the simple removal of the number (Atm you can click on the likes and manually count how many someone receives), is the first step in making social media, more social.
I can honestly say that every like, every comment, every person I follow and every message sent. Is an action, that is 100% completed by myself and always will be.
How do you feel about the changes? Let me know in the comments below.
