A super sweet lil Beautiful Firetail (Stagonopleura bella) taken on a recent @_faunagraphic tour to Melaleuca.
If you zoom in on his beak, you can see the remains of Orange-bellied Parrot tucker that he has pinched from a nearby feeding station.
Times can be tough down there in the South West Conservation Area ❤️
Take me back already!!!
A few weeks ago while photographing waterfowl at Quidi Vidi Lake I noticed that shortly after sunrise for a brief few moments a section of magical light reflected on the lake. This light resulted from the sun hitting the windows of a distant house then reflecting into the water. I have made multiple attempts to capture some of the divers passing through this magical light. I have yet to photography what I feel is the perfect image in this situation but I did capture this male Tufted Duck which I felt made for a unique and interesting image. If you look closely you can still see the water frozen to its head and chest from the bone chilling -21 degree wind chill from that morning. @best_birds_of_world#kings_birds
