The Rock Ptarmigan is probably the most hardy bird in North America. These little grouse live year-round well into the Arctic Circle. This drawing illustrates the difference of the blackish Western Aleutian (L) and pale Eastern Aleutian (R) subspecies.
This is the last week of The Blab! Show at @coprogallery. If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s stellar and it’s been a pleasure being part of this show. This piece, Aquaria, is still looking for a home. Even though it’s new, it’s one of my all time favorites! Sometimes I just give up trying to figure out how this whole art world works 🤔😶🤷🏻♂️
My Galah pair is completed! I really enjoyed painting this one. I’m happy to say that the male Galah has returned . Yesterday they were both here.... so unless it’s a completely new pair .... all is good 😊. The pink I used for this painting was Winsor and Newton’s Quinacridone Red and I mixed the grey for the wings from Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna. I have prints available but I’m keeping the original painting for myself. Thank you for following along and thank you for your lovely comments. I’m sorry I don’t answer them all but I do read them and really appreciate the time you take to write them 😘💕. Swipe for the original and interior mock ups ( not true to size).
