After 6-8 weeks of late nights, pub meals and barely any time to get to the gym, I’m not unhappy with the current state of my body (bearing in mind before #fitoutfreakout I had the BEST body of my life and during all those late nights and horrible food I was quietly concerned all my hard work would be undone!). Muscle tone appears to be in tact, body fat marginally higher but I’m definitely noticing a lack of strength in the gym (which could be tiredness because I haven’t yet fully recovered from the last 8 weeks of fit out and opening the store and then returning to full time work). With 5 weeks to go before I head off to California, Mexico (and possibly Cuba) I’m focusing on (rest!) regaining my strength and improving my cardio fitness so I can nail all those hikes through #bigbendnationalpark and stunning parts of Mexico you can only explore on foot 😍 B R I N G I T ON! 🌵👟☀️ 💪🏼
On a whim I decided to buy a kayak from Walmart and head out to Big Bend and boomerang the Santa Elena Canyon. Turned out to be one of the coolest things I have ever done. The water level was SUPER low and going upstream was a fucking pain. Took me 7 hours to paddle and pull my way up to the rock slide rapid. Floated down a bit and then set up camp to avoid a storm. The next morning was perfect. And floating down was easy peasy! .
