48 hour work week done! Recovery from night shift is always hard. This run of shifts were particularly busy in the ICU. Having a supportive team and hot coffee keeps me going. Resusable cup my @kollab.studio, keeping me energised. After a morning nap I'm getting in some reading of my current book club biography Hidden Figures.
“Nikolai Lantsov, Ruler of Ravka. Privateer. Soldier. Second son of a disgraced king."
I have love everything Leigh Bardugo has written, all her books and her series. I thought I couldn’t be more in love in the Grishaverse she has created and every time she has proven me wrong. I was excited knowing we will be getting a story for Nikolai Lantsov whom we all have been in love the moment we were introduced to his character but King Of Scars made me love him even more. I forgot how much of a charming flirt he is, how smart and a good fighter he is. I love reading his side to his story after everything that has happen in Shadow and Bone series. I thought after reading about him I would already know him but reading King of Scars made me learn even more ❤
Leigh Bardugo writes amazing characters and there is never a character that I do not like. I love Nina Zenik we all know what a badass she is.I was bawling in the first half of the book with her POV. It made me just want to read Six of Crows over again. I miss Six of Crows squad and reading Nina’s story in this book made me want them to reunite all over again and have more adventure (Secretly praying that it will come true) Other than Nina, Zoya is another badass that I love. Her character development is amazing. I am excited to see where all these goes in the next book 😍😭
P.s Am I the only one who always reads about the Darkling and seem so intrigued by him. I wish we get to hear more of his stories and who he was. He is so evil but has such a strong personality that has drawn people and that made me want to know more about his story. Overall, Leigh Bardugo has done it again, WHAT AN AMAZING BOOK 😍
Go grab your copy and start reading King Of Scars if you have not already! Full review is up on Goodreads!
Happy sunday, everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. I took a little break from posting (had some things to finish), and I’m glad to be back.
I love Beauty and the Beast, and I’m excited to read this retelling of it! I’ve seen lots of good reviews, and everyone is raving over it, so we’ll see how I like it at a later time.

“To the people who look up at the starts and dream” 🌟
Hey, all. I feel like I go in and out of stages of being active on this account. As much as I’d like to keep this alive, I find myself being too busy to maintain it. It’s a lot of work. Do you find yourself in the same predicament sometimes?

Daisy Jones & The Six: A Novel
By Taylor Jenkins Reid
I haven’t been this excited for a @bookofthemonth selection in a long time. A book about a band in LA in the 1970s? Yes, please. The story of Daisy Jones, an LA native who comes of age on the Sunset Strip and The Six, a talented band looking for their first big hit, is told as an oral history from the point of view of the musicians and the people who surround them. I devoured Daisy Jones & The Six in a day because I quickly became engrossed in the lives of the bandmates and their eventual implosion.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy read, Daisy Jones & The Six is for you. The novel does deal with some tough subjects, addiction being a big one, but the entire tone of the book is light. Coming off of the last few heavy books I read, I welcomed the change and loved spending a little time back in LA; in the sun-filled canyons and the crowed music venues. I may live in the Midwest now, but I still want to rock and roll all night and read books all day.
1. The Lost World. I have a hazy memory of seeing it at a book fair and going all WAIT DID DOYLE WRITE SOEMTHING BESIDES SHERLOCK?! Bought it that instant. Forgot it even existed. Have not read it.
2. The Soddit. It's a parody of the Hobbit. I literally only bought it because of the pretty illustrations and maps. My 14 year old self would sell her soul for pretty maps. I don't think I ever read it. Might make for a fun read now but my inner Tolkienite cringes even at the thought of it.
3. A Hannah Montana boxed set of four books which are basically (badly) written forms of a few of the episodes with picture stills from the series. I was obsessed with HM at one point. I found the first few series hilarious but then...not so much. Why do I own these books and where I even got them from I can't for the life of me remember. But here they are languishing on a dusty bottom shelf. 🌟
I'm ashamed to say that I'm certain that there are a lot more books like these-books that I've forgotten I even own. QOTD: Can you spy any such books on your lower shelves? 🌟
Spending this beautiful yet cold day inside reading. What book do you have in your hand today? I just started Verity by @colleenhoover . This will be my first book by this author and it’s started strong. Literally pulled me in with in the first paragraph. If you have read this then you know exactly what I mean! .
Finally finished Summer People by @elinhilderbrand. I have yet to read a book of written by her that I have not enjoyed. I did feel that the beginning was a bit slow at times. It did take me longer to finish however I would recommend this book as an enjoyable beach read this summer. I give it 3 out of 5 📚📚📚
