I have a CHALLENGE! I'm here @imaginethislogan during my youngest's art class and decided to paint as well. Now, this one is mine not his lol and as you can see, my art us better kept in the kitchen! But here is my challenge for you: Do something that takes you back to your childhood. In a good way. Paint with water colors or fingerpaint, make a mud pie, build a snowman... Something! Long post warning ⚠️ A bittersweet day of lasts. Last day as a #sahm and last day as an unmarried woman. Tomorrow marks the start of a very grand adventure. Tomorrow I go back to CMU and redo life as a maverick, but learning something completely different. This time I’ll be going back for nursing. After much thought and consideration, it’s time for a huge change and time to officially put my family first. As much as I loved being a music and theatre teacher, I was sacrificing too much to do so. This isn’t officially the end of that, but for now, it is. I am still completing my masters degree in music education at UNC because I’m confident that there is still a greater plan for me that involves my life as a music teacher. We’ll call it a pause for now until the right opportunity presents itself. In the meantime, nursing will become a new passion. I’m excited to learn something new and still invest in others, just in a different way. Also tomorrow, I get to FINALLY marry the love of my life. We are doing it our way for us. That’s it. Nothing else. In the end, it’s all about us and how we choose to do this life together. Tomorrow doesn’t mark the “start” of that, but is an important symbol of that commitment. It’s never too late to choose YOU and what that path looks like. You’re never too far to take a different turn. Be open minded and optimistic. It’ll all be okay in the end. Just cause I don't really wear makeup or do anything with my hair don't mean I can't be pretty. Done with the haters and I have been helped out by the most amazing person in my life to finally realise that I am who I am and I don't need to be ashamed of anything. It’s so important to spend time and really get to know yourself. The ins and outs, your biggest fears, your greatest doubts. What makes you feel alive and what makes you grow. If you want to be happy, and i mean REALLY happy, don’t you want to know what it is that will make you happy?

Be active – you don't have to go to the gym. Take a walk, go cycling or play a game of football. Find an activity that you enjoy and make it a part of your life.
Keep learning – learning new skills can give you a sense of achievement and a new confidence.
Give to others – even the smallest act can count, whether it's a smile, a thank you or a kind word.
Be mindful – be more aware of the present moment, including your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you. Some people call this awareness "mindfulness". It can positively change the way you feel about life and how you approach challenges.

Protect your energy! Have you ever felt like days are absolutely exhausting, even if you haven’t done all that much? Do you sleep 8 hours and still not feel rested? Well... the truth is your probably “spending” more energy than you are “saving.” You can’t study, go to work, answer emails, talk to friends/coworkers/peers/family/etc, run errands and not take any of that time to re-charge. Sure, some days it might feel like you can, but that is only if you plan to burn out in the long term. Take time to recharge, no matter what that means! You can sit around, nap, eat, watch tv, read, listen to music, the options are endless. Recognize your mental limits and give yourself time. I bet if you looked at your day today you would see that you spent more energy than you did re-charging. Don’t forget that this doesn’t mean doing nothing, it can be as simple as not checking your email while you eat breakfast. Don’t combine down time with work time! #mentalhealth
✨SO freeing ✨ Perspective changed. Often times, I know for me, the only thing holding me back is what other people think. What if we did everything we truly wanted or said what we really meant or were EXACTLY ourselves instead of holding back. You never know how being just YOU - purely YOU - can change someone or something for the better. Do what you want to do because whatever “they” think is not your problem ✨
My one word for 2019 is FEARLESS!
I had heard of my one word for a few years and last year I chose a word but didn’t focus on it after that. I honestly didn’t understand what one word really was.
This year I did research to learn what it meant, I took time to really think about my word instead of picking something random, and I prayed about it.
My one word is about picking one word to focus on instead of a list of changes or resolutions. It’s supposed to help you focus and become the person you want to be.
I want to be FEARLESS!
I don’t want others opinions or negative comments. I don’t want my own thoughts and negativity or fears to hold me back from something. If I’m fearful I want to face it head on instead of shy away!
