I threw this comforter on my bed last week when my sister was here taking some photos for me, and I love it so much. It’s bright and cozy and makes my room feel so happy.
It’s easy to look at this photo and think “oh, I wish my room looked like that!”. Instagram is a hotbed for comparison and coveting because it makes it so easy - we get to share edited versions of our real lives and compare them to the edited versions of other people’s lives, when really no one’s house or homeschool or even face always looks as good as it does on here.
We’ve all got ugly ac units (I edited mine out of this photo - did you know you could do that?! It’s crazy! DM me if you want to see the original) and messy tables and temperamental skin. Apps make it easy to make all of that disappear so that we only see the pretty stuff, and I think that’s ok as long as we remember that it’s not the real thing.
I’m not sure where I’m going with all of this, but I felt like saying it. I hope that when you look at this pretty bedroom you can think “wow her room looks really great. Mine doesn’t right now, but the dishes are done and the kids loved our lessons yesterday, so I’m doing great, too.” ✌🏻
the other half of my bun didn’t want to be part of this picture😊 i respect his privacy

Here’s to #motivationmonday this is also a throwback. This was once a door that hung in my parents house. I ripped it up and repurposed it to be a bench that now sits in their backyard. Zoom in and you can see the door hinges and the different joinery from when it was a door.
I’m looking to getting into making more furniture so if you know anyone looking for custom pieces please tag them in the comments!
