It can be hard sometimes, busy, stressful, exciting, joyful! I have felt all of this in the past couple of months! •
I have been busy with life lately that I have let my health take the back burner! I haven’t been working out as much, eating every sugary thing I can find!!!! So much so that my diabetes have been crazy out of control! In the past couple of months my weight gain has reached the number of what I was when i was pregnant with Hadley!!! FOR REAL!!! This was sooo hard to swallow! •
I am now back on meds and having to do a insulin injection to control my diabetes!!! 😩🙈! It totally stinks to have to fight sugar cravings every minute of the day!!! Today is the day I get myself back under control! No more self-defeat or excuses!!! •
I’m back!!!!! And ready to help you ladies and gents out there with the same struggles as me!!!! Let’s get healthy together!!!
I can literally eat an entire box of hot tamales in minutes. And then wonder where they all went!! I don't have a smoking addiction, I don't have an alcohol addiction. I do have a sugar addiction. Leave me alone with a package of Oreos and see then disappear in minutes.
It's something I have had to teach myself to control. Some days are harder than others. Just yesterday I was cleaning out our pantry and I found an open can of cupcake frosting, and wondering if it was still good, I sprayed some onto a plate. It looked fine, so then I sprayed just a little more and tasted it. Still good. So I sprayed some right into my mouth. Seriously SO good and sugary and sweet! I kept shoveling it in as I walked to the trash can and threw it away. Because I know i cannot resist the urge so why keep the temptation around!!
This picture is me, 20 days ago. Right before I started the current program, getting my last fix of my favorite candy. It isn't easy saying no, it isn't easy staying on track, and it certainly isn't easy to not beat myself up for my tasting yesterday. But it gets a little easier each day. I am keeping my eye on my goals, on the results, on not having diabetes, on being the most healthy happy Mom I can be for my girls. 😍
I am not in this alone. I have an incredible group who help keep me accountable. If you struggle with food addiction, binge eating, emotional eating, etc. You don't have to fight alone. Message me or comment here and let's help each other! 😊
I’m about halfway through from where I was to where I want to be. From 290lbs when I started this change on July 17th to 251lbs this morning Oct. 14th. I feel so much better than ever I’m more active now and less tired. I have learned instead of setting a huge goal and after a while feeling like a failure set smaller ones that will baby step you to the next and eventually you will be where you want to be. I will be looking forward in December to hearing from my doctor that I have reversed my diabetes. That’s my biggest goal. No one can tell me you can’t lose weight and get healthy as a truck driver! #maplestonecottage#healthytrucker#healthytruckerslife#beatdiabetes#otrtrucker#kickdiabetestothecurb#eattolivedaily#obesetobeast

I can tell you all the things this health + fitness lifestyle has done for me, but I’m going to let one of my clients tell you instead...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I just wanted to say THANK YOU!! For inviting me into this Beachbody craze. It has done so much for me physically. I feel so much healthier, stronger and confident that I can get back to a weight and stamina of my younger years. Health wise I was borderline diabetic and I’m just determined to prevent further decline!”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That just says EVERYTHING to me. She’s changed her mindset, she’s reaching for goals she didn’t think she could, she has significantly IMPROVED her health! All because she said YES!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what is keeping you from saying yes? What if “yes” changed your entire life?
Who are the cutest & healthiest superheroes on the block? Our very own Superkidz Sam & Sara of course. They have returned this year to help our little followers get ready for the Beat Diabetes Walk & they have a big surprise for them! Stay tuned to know more.
While it is incredibly important to know the scientific principles and nutritional contents of foods that we eat, mindful eating enables us to to recognise and appreciate our emotions and physical sensations while we actually eat. 🌱
The concept of mindfulness is the key foundation of Buddhist teachings and teaches us to become more aware and to fully experience the nourishment of our bodies. 🌱
Why it’s important: The constant distractions of our daily lives plays a massive role in our dietary choices. Mindlessness can cause us to easily become dissociated from what our bodies truly need and truly want. 🌱
Take small steps to become more present in the moment just before you sit down for a meal. You will begin to become more aware of your body, thoughts and feelings. The insights you gain should help you realise and break any barriers preventing you from living a healthy lifestyle. 🌱
Remember: It’s not about dieting, it’s about developing a healthful relationship with nutrition🌱💫 🌱
I trained for almost 6 months & was at the gym 3-4x a week to prep myself to join the Police Academy several years ago. That's until I got into a car accident & was rear ended pretty bad both suvs were totalled. I still go therapy almost every 3 weeks till this day.
The most frustrating part of this all was being diabetic while training. Even with the training & meal changes it didn't quite affect my A1C as much as I thought it would. I would always have to eat something 1 hour before to prevent a sugar low & drink a hearty shake right after as I would feel so drained.
Does any diabetics have the same issues?
What do you do before & after your gym workout?
Did it affect your A1C?
Lunch today in #susiesketokitchen is pork chop and chips. This is hubby's all time favourite meal. But now that we are eating all out #keto these days, things are a little different. This is a fabulous flavourful, tender, juicy, big and fatty outdoor reared Herefordshire pork chop seared so still pink -( one must never over cook a pork chop 😠 😃) smothered in a leek, apple, sage and spinach cream sauce with celeriac chips and caugette ribbons. It's still his favourite meal 😆😇✋👊
Even though my meals on this plan are very low calorie and very low carb, they are certainly not without flavour. Having said that, it’s really important to me, because they are so low calorie, that they are also very nutrient dense. What better way to pack in the nutrients than using some delicious farm fresh offal from @kimbers_farm_shop I have made tonight, a lamb kidney ragu with courgetti spaghetti. This was a bit of an experiment so I am so pleased it turned out absolutely delicious 😋 It also only 198 calories and a fabulously low 7.7g of carbs #winning

Supper tonight on the 8 week blood sugar diet is... Celeriac and caper rosti topped with crayfish in a lemon, garlic and chilli butter sauce. Sooo delish 😋 and even though I cooked the rosti in #coconutoil and made the sauce with #butter it still came in at a fabulously low 250 calories and 3.3g of carbs #fatsaregood#keto#diet#lchf
The start of week 5 of my 8 week blood sugar diet, so half way. Fantastic results so far. My blood sugars are normal and I've lost 9.5kg so I'm super happy. I'm also really enjoying creating delicious tasty and nutritious meals, with this lunch today being no exception. This is courgetti Ramen with fillet steak. I infused my own 12hr beef bone broth with some dashi, miso, a few dried mushroom, soy, fresh ginger, garlic and chillies. I used courgetti instead of noodles and topped with enoki and shiitake mushrooms, spring onion, coriander, sesame seeds and oil, nori, half a boiled egg and thin slices of raw fillet steak. It was seriously good and another dish that hubby absolutely adored 😃 This delicious bowlful came in at a glorious low 180 calories and only 4g of carbs 😇
