2018 was a year of injury recovery, personal discovery, professional projects and the realisation that there is more than stamping a ticket to Kona in life - at least for me.
I didn't race an Ironman, in fact I didn't race much full stop 😎 I was super happy to come back to #triathlon after a year out and had a blast at @trideauville, @alpetriathlon, Triathlon Royans and @natureman_triathlon.
I proved to myself that I can still swim, I can bike hard and if my body allows for a few consistent sessions, I can also run 💥
I don't feel the desire to race again for now, possibly because I have a lot on the cards work-wise, but mainly because I want to get faster before I stand on another start line... 🚴🌫️
So for me it's already time to turn my back on the 2018 season 😊 Big thanks to my sponsors, family and friends for being part of the adventure!

Some highlights from Lyme... Love this spoon. And imagining its history, stirring a nice cup of Earl Grey in someones gaff somewhere before being made obsolete for whatever reason and abandoned into the trash and then into the sea. Its been corroded exceptionally well, look at the way its been eaten away at by the elements! I have a bit of a spoon fetish anyway so this will be added to the personal collection. Theres some other pieces, love the floral sea pottery, the lion makers stamp sea pottery (can anyone make out what it says it makes my eyes go squiffy trying to make it out) and MY FIRST FOSSIL! The Jurassic coast is littered with fossils and I womble inbetween novice and experienced hunters tap tapping away with their hammers to try and find some squillion year old specimen. I believe this is half an ammonite. My eyes are usually trained purely for glass and pottery so this was a nice surprise. The last two photos are the sad part pf beachcombing I rarely mention, all the crap basically. I always have a separate bag for all the rubbish I find, and to be honest Lyme is relatively clean and plastic free. But the beach I frequent has an old Victorian dumping site at the top so there is alot of nasty metal like the rusty stuff pictured, aswell as old cermaic lighting / fuse components that scarily could have asbestos inside of them (last photo) So all that went in the bin #2minutebeachclean. Next we are off down the coast to a charming chalet on the beach, Bean is going to love it so much! ✨ #beachbling
