I want to share photos of my favourite animals. Not really true, because all animals are actually my favourite. But you know. 🤷♀️ So here’s a gang-gang cockatoo. Currently a fave. This one’s from south-west Victoria, one of my field sites. This is a female. The male is similar except for his HOT PINK HEAD! Seriously, google it. Or I’ll try find a pic I’ve taken. They make the sweetest sounds, for a parrot. ☺️ #ganggangstyle#speciesspotlight
What a playground, no wonder dinosaurs were having fun in here before us. Did you know that you can find dinosaur tracks printed on the rocks while hiking at Red Rock Canyon? When I found out my mind was blown 🤓 #ournaturedays
This looks like a happy holiday picture of Hannah. But that was just a part of an entire picture that I did not see. My very view of the world was like this. Something happened these days. I step back to get a view of the whole #picture
Gambel’s Quail - Palm Springs, CA.
Fun fact: Although the Gambel's Quail is adapted to living in a dry, desert environment, it reproduces best in years with adequate rainfall
Red-winged Blackbird - Seattle, WA.
Fun fact: Each pair of Red-winged Blackbirds raise 2-3 broods per season. Each time they build a new nest, which keeps the nest from becoming infected with parasites that could kill the baby birds.
