For someone like myself who is severely impatient, then crowded places with major traffic bank ups doesn’t work in my favour or bring out the best in me😫 When it comes to heading out for a day trip in Bali, or if travelling with family or a group, then travelling by car really is the only option. Unfortunately travel time is solely dependant on the traffic that day which can range from being a breeze....or a disaster! For smaller trips where it’s just me travelling, the best option available in Bali is with these guys in green @gojekindonesia Similar to the Uber App in Australia, you plug into the app your location and then it will give you a price as well as ETA of your driver! The only difference is you pay the driver once he/she has arrived. They are super safe, provide you with a helmet and your quoted fare IS the fare! It’s really really cheap! A trip that may cost you $15 by taxi, may cost you $2-3 by bike! It’s cheap, far less chance of being caught up in traffic jams and a fun experience!! Download the app before you go and I promise it will make your holiday a joy! Why are you moving to Bali? Why don’t you stay in New York? Aren’t you scared? You don’t know anyone there? Won’t you get lonely? Isn’t it dangerous?
Do you see a pattern with these questions I get asked every day? They stem from fear of the unknown (and perceived threat towards my safety, thank you), but this illusion really is crippling for those who immediately see the failures before the opportunities, who add fear and negativity to hopes and dreams for the sake of comfort. I never really considered myself brave, over time I just learned to follow my heart, and to some (including myself a couple years ago) the whole concept is foreign and irrational 🙈
So let me explain myself: I am moving to Bali by myself because I want to step OUTSIDE my comfort zone, I WANT to live in a different country where I don’t know the roads or the buildings or the language. I don’t know anyone, but after solo trips to 10+ countries, I’m confident this one won’t be any different and I’ll meet new, amazing souls who will change my life ❤️ I am living my dream: building my business, living by the beach drinking coconuts, meeting other digital nomads — it might seem crazy, I mean, even to me it WAS crazy at one point being funneled out of college into corporate America, but as crazy as my dream was I made it come true, by making choices like these. Am I scared? Of course. But I’m even more excited to see what the future holds, and to be able to say “I tried” instead of “I wish I tried." If you do the same thing every day, finding nothing difficult, you will get the same results. Beautiful, grand, unimaginable things happen when you challenge yourself; you just have to believe in yourself, take determined action, and trust the process ⭐💫
