A little stone story📚
Last weekend I took the girls to our local apothecary store🌿
They had a few malas on sale (and I’ve been wanting one for a while)👀
I was immediately drawn to this one because the pink and green stones reminded me of me and PB since they are our favorite colors💗💚👫
I decided not to get it since I was already stocking up on a bunch of things but when I checked out the shop owner told me I had a reward for next time I came in💵
I couldn’t stop thinking about it and messaged her the next day to ask her what the stone was that it was made out of💌
Her answer, RUBY ZOISITE❤️
So I immediately geeked out to see what they help with🤓
Here’s what I found: 💥It contains small ruby crystals inside zoisite which makes this stone a “marriage” of passion and patience. 💥It helps to keep you from over reacting to difficult situations and mood swings. 💥It transmutes negative energy into positive. 💥It helps to cleanse the mind of negativity and re-energize your spirit with passions. 💥It is a highly stimulating stone that will drive you fiercely toward your goals.
I was blown away🤯
First, because I was originally drawn to it because it reminded me of my spouse and our marriage☝🏼 Second, because it is exactly what I need at this exact moment to help drive my business to the next level✌🏼 Thank you universe for once again reminding me that you’ve got my back and that I should trust my intuition more often🙏🏻🙌🏼
It's a repetative system this making and curing your own meats so I decided to do a menchie as we call it in the salt so you can see its a new day of cure so less and less moisture is coming out but its not as firm just now so gotta give it time and I'm sure it will be epic once we smoke it in the new smoker I cannot wait I need bacon it runs through my veins like a good keto girl lol
Food prep Sunday starts with the almighty bacon. 400 degrees convection option and I start with 25 min. (I buy super thick cut, if you don’t start with 15 min!) Checking after that until it is crispy perfection. My husband told me once he should have written bacon chef into our vows. Funny man. How are you food prepping today!? #foodprep#sundayprepping#foodprepsunday#prepared#bacon#baconislife

🍴Bacon — raw ➡️ cooked //📍Home sweet home // 🗺 Washington, DC
Hi! 👋🏼 We’ve noticed a whole bunch of new faces following along so thought we’d do a proper INTRODUCTION alongside our first ever photo as a family of four!! 👨👩👦👦
I’m Rach! I manage our Instagram account so all the posts, comments and messages come from me 🙋🏼 I dreamed up this idea of a family gap year after thinking there has to be more to life than staying at home on a strict budget with 2 kids 😱 while Steffan misses out. I love to travel on the fly, unplanned & spontaneous, and I work in marketing for a toy company.
Then there’s Steff - my soulmate, dad and husband extraordinaire 🙋🏼♂️ We bonded over bacon and cokes. He didn’t take much persuading once I showed him the numbers💰- we’ll actually spend less having neither of us working but not living in expensive Melbourne! And we get to hang out together all the time 🤗 Steff loves meticulous planning and having everything booked in advance 😂😂 He works in warehousing and logistics.
Asher (3) and Sonny (10days) - our boys are our inspiration, we just want to spend time with them while they are little and teach them how to be good humans.
So from the moment we realised we were expecting Sonny, we’ve saved & saved, worked & sold, and in January we are putting all our remaining ‘stuff’ in storage, giving up our rented house and travelling the world for 10+ months!
WHY INSTAGRAM? I wanted to research great places to go and find other families who were already living our dream - and boy did I find a lot of you! It’s been inspiring, challenging, informative and already feels like a solid community. It’s reassured me we aren’t crazy, that it’s all doable, and I really hope to be able to meet up with some of you along the way.
(I also found ‘normal’ blogs intimidating, I’d rather do ‘snack-sized’ posts that help me keep a visual journal of our trip for us to look back on.)
We’d love to know more about you, maybe comment below or tag us in your intro posts so we can have a read. And totally ask us any questions - about saving, budgets, itineraries, favourite taco 🌮 fillings... 😋 we love tacos.
