The saying "fake it until you make it", can help or hurt. Depending on what state you're in at that moment you hear this.
You don't have to fake it, and you don't have to keep telling yourself to be happy. Life is an ebb and flow of all emotions and it's normal.
If you a beating yourself up for something you can't do, accept the things you can't change and look at the things you CAN do. 💗
Any one of you reading this are fighting internally about something.
You've stopped breastfeeding and are being shamed by someone (including yourself). You didn't want to and are being shamed.
You went back to work and feel guilt about "leaving the kids". You stay at home and feel guilt about not having a "clock in / out job"
You want to homeschool but can't keep up with the homeschool group
You want to stop snapping at your kids, your family, the dog.. You are exhausting yourself trying to keep you house, mind, marriage and kids going
(Okay, the kids are always going)
It's okay to not have your sh*t together.
It won't happen over night.
Most of us won't be a molecular scientist anytime soon...probably ever.
We can be other things though and that is amazing.
First thing you need to do is let go of all the weight you're putting on yourself and change one thing...just one thing today that you want to work towards.
We unfortunately take on such large tasks that we are unable to uphold our goals. Don't go big out of the gate...start small and integrate that one thing everyday, until it becomes a routine.

Gratitude and fermentation...❣️ Today I’m grateful for still being alive. 8 years ago yesterday, in Danish an evening called Skt. Hans Aften, I had my first series of life threatening seizures while looking at a bonfire and breasfeeding my newborn son. I was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where they saved my life and diagnosed me with #epilepsy .
From there it’s a long story up till today. I’ve chosen not to celebrate this otherwise beautiful evening - the longest day of the year. Today I celebrate. Fermenting summer #cabbage , listening to music and being quiet.
🔝It’s a shame how many people in this world are held back from reaching their full potential due to self-imposed limitations, and subsequently not believing in oneself. Many of these limitations originate from childhood, and throughout our lives we continue to hear them from others around us and from ourselves. Over time they become ingrained in our DNA and part of who we are. Most of us are not aware that we even have them. These limitations keep us small and content with where we are at in life. .
🔝If you want to change your life, you have to change your belief system. You have to change what you believe you are capable of achieving. You have to break the negative self-talk and kill your inner critic. If you change your thoughts, you will change your life. .
🔝Here are a few simple strategies to rise above your self-imposed limitations: .
✔️Become aware of your negative self talk. Awareness is the key to change. To become aware, try to be more mindful in your day to day life. As soon as you realize you are telling yourself something negative, make a note of it in a journal or in your phone. Over just a day or a few days, you will likely see patterns in your thinking. .
✔️Once you are aware of the negative thoughts, discover a replacement thought. These will often be opposite thoughts. For example, if you tell yourself you’re not capable of a certain task, start telling yourself you are. Better yet, tell yourself why you are. Like any habit, if you are consistent with replacing your negative thoughts with positive ones, they will become automatic thoughts over time. .
✔️There are so many other strategies that can not be contained in this text. One more to highlight is visualization. Determine what you want in life and who you want to be, and take just a few minutes every day to visualize it. Close your eyes, what will it look like and how will it make you feel. You will begin to think like this person you are visualizing over time, and eventually become that person by taking action. .

Self-examination of your role within a situation is important. As we move into the early waxing cycle, light begins to shine upon the shadows, illuminating what is. This is the beginning of a powerful process: realization. When we decide to really examine our lives without fear or favor, it can be hard; this is, no doubt, an act of courage. We might not like what we discover, after all, yet without self-awareness and the will to act upon those realizations(whether negative or positive) we do not get to change and grow.
