"I can't start because (insert reason here)." Sometimes we have valid reasons for holding off, but sometimes we make excuses.
My challenge to you today is to start on the journey. You don't need to hold an exhibition of your artwork, just research venues to hold one. You don't need to publish a book, just do an outline of that idea rattling around in your mind.
Break down the journey into steps. Allocate a timeframe to each step - be realistic, or you risk becoming demoralised and giving up. Then take the first step.
This Friday my new book: BELOVED will be available on Amazon.com!!!!!! I never thought I’d be an author of 10 BOOKS, nor the CEO of my own Publishing Company!!! Pain has a way of giving birth to our passion which in turn can lead to profiting from our gift. •
Get ready to grab yours this Friday!!!! I’ll also be going live for a virtual book release party!!!!! 🎉 🎊 •

Confession One: Musical theatre and chess were my true loves.
I was a mixture of nerd and drama queen.
I liked to think of myself as raspberry ripple ice cream.
The perfect combination of sauce to creamy goodness.
Confession Two: I was an adaptable kind of girl.
Until it came to my dreams.
Four years of hard work and I finally got into the college I’d fantasized about since I was a little girl.
But sometimes things didn’t work out how you wanted them to.
One incident—and a Viking helmet—was all it took to have my aspirations snatched away at the end of my first year.
And now I was here.
In a state I hated.
A second college I didn’t want to go to.
But no other choices available.
Confession Three: Alcohol was the enemy.
All I wanted was to blow off some steam before I met my new fate.
To let loose, and have a little fun.
I was never meant to wake up in a hot guys bed and not remember how I got there.
Confession Four: He was my new roommate.
Running out of his house the morning after the night before was the last time I was meant to see him.
I could forget it ever happened and start my sophomore year unscathed.
Until I found out he was my new roommate...along with another thirty guys.
I was the new frat girl in town, and life was about to get a whole lot messy.

Next month I’ll be launching Montrez Reads, my 1st book of the month fun. I’m looking for debut, indies, small press authors & hidden gems that need more buzz. I’m looking for polished & published YA/NA books readers need to know about. Each month, followers can vote for the book of the month & I’ll purchase, read & give the selected author and work some love on social media. It’s not too late to share recommendations (here on this post). Polls go up April 1 here and on Twitter @ Montrezwrites #writingcommunity#montrezreads#authorsofinstagram#authorpreneur#author#amreading#yabooks

There’s a lot of rain in the forecast today, but I’m trying to focus on all the things I can get done indoors 🙌🏼📖✍🏻
Sis, you know if you’re a purposepreneur when:
(1) Someone complains that you talk about Jesus too much in your business, so you kindly refund their payment and ask them to never buy from you again. .
. (2) You regularly include Christ in your decision-making process by asking Him to guide you in which direction you should go. .
. (3) You maintain the highest form of integrity in your product offers & services because you know you’re the daughter of Christ, and that makes you royalty. .
. (4) You don’t believe in halfway shortcuts. If Jesus paid it all on the cross to live His purpose, then surely you can pay your dues to successfully live your purpose as an entrepreneur too. .
. (5) And most of all - you rep the Kingdom. You may not explicitly sell faith-based products, but you know when you make a move as an entrepreneur, it’s to shine the light of Christ Every. Single. Time.
Sis, if that’s you, welcome to the sisterhood. This is our season of purpsoepreneurship. I can’t wait to see what God has in store.
