Back to The Institute tonight. What is The Institute you ask? It’s the place where psychics and scientists have come together to make time travel possible. Time travel doesn’t happen in a car or a photo booth. It happens in our minds. Taking us to destinations contained within our own memories.
Though I’m frustrated with my slow-going, once a week writing schedule, I’m always eager to get back to my world and keep creating. Going to be grateful for my baby steps today instead of resenting my inability to leap at the moment.
I could use all of this extra-purpley *oomph* as I prep for Book 3 of my series which is so *almost* here that I can taste it!
Book 3 "Pandora's Price" rounds up the first chunk of my series, and I can breathe for a bit. After this one is out, I'll need to take an emotional break from writing! It's been rough. But for now, for today, I'll just smile and rock my #purple !
Taking a short break from vlogging and cleaning to look over my plot, motives and goals. I can’t stop thinking about my new novel. Isn’t that the best feeling ever? 😃
FYI, I’m vlogging a big spring cleaning and declutterjng in order to let good vibes in. If you want to see what I’m doing and the benefits that come with this process, subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss this video. It should go up this week 😃

“Pop, what have you done?” he whispered, surprised at the first couple of photos on top.
They were snapshots of him and Emeline sitting on the weathered deck with the ocean in the background, the two of them in mid-conversation. Thomas had his shirt off exposing his rock-hard, post-pubescent body, and Emeline was wearing a neon-green bikini. Her hair was wet, her bangs plastered to her forehead as if they had just been swimming, and her features were young and soft. Thomas squinted as he tried to make out his own facial expression in one of them, but he was turned awkwardly with most of his back facing the camera. He fingered the photo and flipped it over, peering at the date written in his grandfather’s fancy cursive writing. The picture was taken during the last summer he was at Cap Cottage, right before he headed off to college.
A small smile crossed his lips as he remembered that summer long ago. While holding the photo in his hand, he peered into the box and was shocked to see a dozen more pictures of him and Emeline together. His brow wrinkled as he pulled a handful out and quickly looked through them like a deck of cards. There were images of them splashing in the ocean, walking along the beach, on their bikes, and cooking dinner. The further he went into the box, the further the years went back. He guessed there were hundreds of snapshots going back to their elementary school days.
“I don’t understand,” he muttered aloud with a deep frown. Dumping the entire box out onto the wooden floor, he eagerly sifted through the memories of him and Emeline growing up together. The photos were an unforgettable timeline of every summer he spent in Sandersville Beach at Cap Cottage, the memories rushing at him like a strong wave at high tide. And in almost every single photo was his childhood best friend and companion, Emeline Fisher. 💛

Nora Roberts posted something interesting on her Facebook page the other day. She pulled aside the curtain and gave her readers more than a peek at her writing process. She laid it down, step by step.
One thing I found truly interesting was the number of rounds she did with a manuscript before she sent it off to her agent and editor. The magic number? 3.
Nora is what I call a layerer. Round 1 is the fast first draft. Round 2 is the add, delete, delete, add, rewrite, revise, do it all again round. Round 3 is the scrub and polish, make it sparkle round.
That’s how I work. Now, if I can just be as prolific. Lol. I’m sure my pace will pick up over time. But for now, I’m on Round 2 of #SideTrip , coming at you July 2020.
For the curious, the link to Nora’s Facebook note:
Happy Tuesday!! Where are all my readers at? This is the time of year I really get to dig into some great books! The husband likes to go fishing and I tend to lay out on the back of the boat and read 🤣 I'm always up for a good Nicholas Sparks novel (I've read most of them!) Ohh and Nora Roberts ❤️ I need to know - what books are on your top 5 list this year? #bookshelves#lifequotes#readersofinstagram#bookjunkie#readingtakesyouplaces
Jason Friday’s family business has kept the grooms of Delmarva in style for over forty years. Hannah Robinson’s family has been doing the same for brides for nearly thirty.
A squabble over twenty years ago turned the two families into mortal enemies. As their businesses expanded and services were added, their rivalry only became more cutthroat...until Uber Brides sets up shop in Rehoboth Beach. This bridal superstore chain is known for slashing prices, squeezing every drop of discounts from their vendors, and running family-owned shops out of business.
The days of the Fridays and Robinsons serving the brides and grooms of Delmarva are numbered unless Jason and Hannah can band together to run Uber Brides out of Rehoboth Beach. Can they manage to do it without killing each other...or getting too distracted by their growing attraction?
On Sunday, my husband asked the church to collectively come and help pray for one of our young adults who was praying at the altar.
He said: "If you have ever struggled through something come and help our sister pray." I'm not oblivious to the fact that we ALL go through junk. However, in that moment, it hit me hard as I saw the whole church come and help her pray.
The Devil wants us to think we are alone.
You are not alone in your situation!! Not only do you have people available to use as resources, prayer partners, advice givers...but you also have JESUS!! DONT THROW IT ALL AWAY!! Don't lose your relationship with Christ, your life, anything...just because you feel alone.
The day is finally here! If you like romance be sure to check out my book "Better With You." It's only $2.99 on Amazon! The link is in my bio. Feel free to leave a review once you are done reading the book. I would love to hear your thoughts on Tate and Harper.

I’m trying to write two books at once; one fiction and one nonfiction. There’s a lot of listening going on over here.
I figured since I’m still waiting to hear back from the agent (🤓) I might as well stay busy with my writing!
• Now, let’s talk about #writing ...
K.M. Weiland (@authorkmweiland) begins her book OUTLINING YOUR NOVEL by saying that “The art of fiction is a wide-open sea of possibilities, in which the author is a wave-tossed ship along for the ride.”
So, in a way, I always see writing as traveling. If you think about it, actually, just about every author you can name wrote travel narratives at one point in their careers, Henry James, Mark Twain, Edith Wharton, Gustavo Flaubert, Ernest Hemingway, Virginia Woolf. They all wrote travel journals. And some books always feel like an adventure or a trip for me in every possible way.
Here’s why I’m talking about it.
☕️ I strongly believe that this book I’m reading–TRAVEL WRITING by L. Peat O’Neal–, should also be in your personal on-writing-books library (and this is by far not an ad). Take a look of what it promises (and delivers) according to the back cover:
• Discover the many types of travel articles you can write
• Learn tips and hints to make your journey smooth
• Write detailed journal entries that lead to first drafts
• Organize your articles, creating enticing beginnings and fascinating endings
• Strengthen your writing style to keep readers captivated
• Enhance your writing with photography–your own, or from other sources
• Follow the most promising paths to selling your articles.
Now replace “travel articles” and “articles” with “novels” or “stories”, and voilà, you have a very interesting book on writing. It’s a different perspective of the craft, and it’s very useful, to be honest. The book really gives some good insights on how to describe places and experiences no matter if you’re traveling to an actual place, or places and worlds you create yourself. Eh? Do you get it?
The best part of being a writer is that there’s absolutely no limits to what we can create.
NOW, GO WRITE!
