Slowly gaining my energy back after going to #aclfest back to back weekends (yes, I’m a crazy person) with the help of @powerupsnacks which are packed with protein as well as vegan & gluten-free! 💪🏼😋 I’ve legit already gone through 2 bags this week lol They are sold all around Austin and will be in town to introduce Austinites to their trail mix from now until November 5th, so check them out + follow their feed for their daily whereabouts! 🙌🏼 (p.s. can any Austinites pinpoint where this mural is? 😏) #sponsored#powerupATX
Hola Friend! My new mural is officially complete. This mural is meant to celebrate the cultural diversity of East Austin, and is also an homage to Daniel Johnston’s iconic “Hi, How Are You” mural. I spent a lot of my childhood in this East Austin neighborhood, so it was a real honor to create this piece for a place that I love! #holafriend#mural#murals#austinmurals#atxmurals#austinart#atxart

Warning: word vomit coming at ya in this caption... 👀😅 I recently saw a post on the gram that stated, “Self Care Tip: Unfollow every account on Instagram that makes you feel like you need to be someone else” & I could not agree more! I used to follow every big-name blogger I admired for inspiration along with internet strangers who were living my dream of traveling the world, but soon all it did was make me play the comparison game to the point where I didn’t even want to open up Instagram anymore because it made me feel like 💩x100. .
While I love creating colorful content & sharing my travels + Austin adventures with y’all, my fear is that someone will look at my own Instagram and feel this same depleting way about themselves. My goal is to create a space where people feel good when my posts come up or at least not feel bad about themselves (I mean, no one should want that obvi). Truth is, my life is no where near perfect (anyone who knows me personally can attest to this lol); you are only seeing the highlight reel—which are just teeny tiny moments of my actual life (that are usually edited anyway 🤷🏻♀️).
This app makes it super easy to scroll through the posed + carefully crafted photos posted and then to look at our own lives in comparison and question our worth. I get it; it happens to you & it happens to me. A LOT. But what I’ve quickly come to learn (especially from the people I’ve actually met through instagram) is that we ALL have imperfections, insecurities, and a big ol’ mess going on behind the scenes no matter what our social media lives may portray. So with that said, there really is no need to let others feel like you should be anyone other than yourself... I think it’s time we all agree to finally stop comparing ourselves to strangers (or even friends!) on the internet since it’s doing no one any favors—who’s with me? 🙋🏻♀️
