It's Full Moon festival (or Mid Autumn festival) today and many Asian countries are celebrating this occasion with moon cakes, lanterns and lion dance etc.
In Vietnam it's traditionally a festival for children. They get to gather together, eat sweets and all kind of treats, play with characters from folklore and enjoy traditional dance performances. Parents would buy them lanterns, toys, little drums etc. .
Sadly with the dominance of China's modern cheap toys and the influence of Western cultures, kids nowadays turn their back at traditional toys and the festival somehow turns into a kind of Halloween-like costume festival for young adults.
These pictures of the Full Moon festival were taken around 5 years ago with my very first camera. This is probably my first photo essay if you don't counts the millions pics of my pets 😁

Pic 2: A guy with a red mohawk wig outside a shop selling lanterns
Pic 3: Two street vendors selling masks

Took this a while ago with dad’s Nikon. I always appreciate a good camera but I know I’m not the best caretaker for it. Things I love usually end up lost and broken, so I figured out it’s the best for both words if I don’t love anything (or anyone).
