Okay but what a good race!!!! Like I loved racing today because it was emotionally draining and definitely makes me wonder how much easier it would be if I wasn't lugging around these 30 extra lbs of fat. BUT I'm still out here doing it and for that I'm happy! I kill myself because I NEED to workout and I always tell myself I'll get in shape for these but I never do. It's embarrassing sometimes for me to be overweight but other days I don't care and the days I don't care is almost everyday. And it's not even in a bad way?!?! Just a "I'm confident with myself" way so that's cool but also can't believe it's been like 2 years since I took on my first Spartan Race at #Wintergreen ??? Like wow how neat. ALSO I THINK I PULLED SOMETHING TODAY

Late post this Spartan Sunday:
I just love coaching this awesome group of OCR Athletes 💪🏻 We’ve tackled Spartan San Jose Super & Sprint, Monterey Super & Sprint, Seattle Beast and now the countdown is on to the event of the year...Spartan World Championships @ Tahoe. For a couple, it’s their first Beast course. While others take it on “willingly” a second time. We even have a couple junkies who are doing it for a good ol’ third time’s a charm 😱
One thing’s for certain, the bond created by Spartans in Tahoe is strong.
Let’s do this! #AROO#ocrathletes#overcomeyourobstacles#cspfamily#clubsportfitness#spartanwc2018#sgxcoach
Tomorrow I will be back to regularly scheduled workout posts but I saw this quote by @alexipanos and just LOVED it and needed to share it. This beautiful journey has given me a window to inspire and encourage many of you who are like me, doing the best we can and growing stronger physically and mentally every day in order to reach goals that we once only dreamed about🌟! If you’re struggling right now, you are not alone. Diamonds are formed under pressure but the key is they don’t form overnight! If you’re dealing with injuries, life, surgeries, life🤪, or like me a granny 🐿 leg (and in 2018 all of the above 💁🏽♀️😂)...don’t beat yourself up. Perhaps you are about to find a beautiful new path that you wouldn’t have taken without this big ol obstacle you are facing or currently in. So let’s start putting those pieces back together the way YOU want them and watch what happens 🌟Here’s to Monday, I’m ready to SLAY and get back at it one small step at a time! 💪🏼🏃🏼♀️⛰ #ocrbyjennifer#squirrel4life#ultratraining
Well @spartanrace today you kicked my butt! Mt. Seymour Super was brutal! So proud of myself though! I finally HIT THE BELL on the rope climb! Been an enemy of mine since 2014! Yay!!! I was so proud at that moment! Looking forward to 2019 season!!! Thank you to all the volunteers today!!! You're amazing! #spartansuper#spartanrace#aroo#ropeclimbdefeated#coldasfuck
This has been, without question, the best birthday I’ve had in more than a decade. A year ago, a 30lbs heavier, unhappy man took a chance on a trifecta pass just before midnight on his 37th birthday. Today, I completed that #spartanrace trifecta, in my home state, with my partner in crime (her first race) and saw my two oldest kiddos complete their first race. Spartan, #ocr@gritlife_gr and all of my fitness family have given me so much support this year. I’m so grateful for this sport, it was the kick in the ass I needed to find my Grit, push through mental shit I was letting hold me back and be a better father, partner, man and human being. I feel younger than I’ve felt in a decade. #aroo#iamaspartan#trifecta#chasingtrifectas#spartankids
We met a lot of great people today on the course. I absolutely love the atmosphere and attitude of my fellow Spartans. As I was leaving the @spartan race, I bumped into @themuddysaint . It was awesome to say, “Hello”. #spartanracer#aroo
What an amazing experience. My biggest takeaways: •Teamwork is EVERYTHING. •Helping other people succeed is the most rewarding thing you can ever experience on the race course and in life. •I am so much more brave than I ever knew and I’m better now for giving myself the opportunity to demonstrate that to myself.
•Life Time brought this group of strangers together to become a TEAM and continues to do so in so many of our programs and within those magical walls. Thank you to @alex_isaly@robglick1 and our innovation leaders at @lifetime.life for believing in the power of the #spartanrace and knowing that it would resonate with our passionate members. Unbelievable experience, I can’t wait for the next one. Huge tearful hug to our coach @michaelwnuk for Believing in us and pushing us to be the best version of ourselves. ❤️❤️ #spartanstrong#ltemployee#loveyourlife#spartanrace#aroo#sore#stfu#detroit@rochesterhillsltf
@becchamm had her debut on @espn 2 today, coming in second place at the @spartanrace North American Championship as a relative newcomer. This med student will be looking to repeat, if not improve upon, her success Saturday in Lake Tahoe. Keep your eyes on this #TotalBadass as she tries to claim another major podium spot!

I had circled this date at the beginning of the year and was really looking forward to racing in my home state. The weekend did not disappoint. It was my first weekend running in a new age group of 30-39, and I felt great in both races, landing a podium spot on Saturday and a 4th place finish Sunday. Saturday I ran a clean race and was able to settle into 2nd. Sunday, I had the lead going into the monkey bars and slipped off. Then I missed my spear. So 60 burpees later, I was somewhere between 8-10th place and was able to recover into 4th. As much as I would have loved to get a podium spot both days, I will take my 2nd place finish on Saturday and call it a successful weekend.
1 hr of yoga and a 3.5 mile run for the night 👌🏻 kinda cool to run 9:15min miles.. need to keep it up, then again it’s nice having the push to keep going 😉🍀

Mom is not a great photographer 😒 but look who I met yesterday @nbptbrewing!!! @bbthebeagle!!! BB and Martha were both rescued from @sweetpawsrescue, the organization that put together this cool Barks n Brews event 🍻 We send lots of pawsitive thoughts to BB as he is going through his heartworm treatment 💙 and we were so glad he was able to go to the event. I also met a ton of other beagles 🗣 There were treats (@quinnsk9cafe 🤤), so I was good 😎👊
Proud to work for Spartan.
I’m also honored to be apart of Spartan Kids Race, Krypteia for Spartan Endurance, and SGX! @spartan & @spartanendure has done nothing but treat me right, support me and respected me. I’m honored to be apart of this family. I would also love to mention that Spartan Endurance has added strong women for Krypteia. ❤️🇺🇸 #spartanrace#spartan#aroo@espn
Comment below if you got a few cuts or scrapes that need a little tender love and care from our Beast Pak and Antiseptic Healing Ointment? With so many races going on across the globe, we’re sure there are a few 😉
By far the hardest thing I have ever put my body through. Tears were shed, obstacles were skipped, burpees were done.. But I did it - we did it. Thankful for my team that helped push me through. Brb, while I go sleep for 3 days. #spartansuper#aroo#aroop

My first OCR was last year on my birthday. What a way to end my first year on my birthday again this year with my first Spartan Super took 4th in age group. Not to mention getting to spend time with the Kor fam 🤙🏻
“When you have a goal, obstacles are actually teaching you how to get where you want to go-carving you a path.’The things which hurt’ Benjamin Franklin wrote, ‘instruct’” Ryan Holiday 🙌🏼The picture on the left was after me failing several attempts at these rope transitions. I would get up to the higher one and lose control trying to swing back down to catch the low rope. I will note that I practice my overheads pretty gassed bc it’s true to racing. I can do anything fresh, but can I approach an obstacle with success after a lot of miles under my belt. The picture on the right was my last attempt of the day. I actually got control of the swinging (lots of momentum coming back down the bar) and pulled up onto the rope to get stable again before reaching for the next rope but missed. I will celebrate that small victory and build from there. Bottom line, shift your thinking to learning and growing from the obstacles you face and I can pretty much guarantee you will overcome them and be better from it...I know I will 🐿 #ultratraining#ocrbyjennifer#squirrel4life
