" #arcticmonkeys Do I Wanna Know?"
When the zeros line up on the 24 hour clock
When you know who's callin' even though the number is blocked
When you walked around your house wearin' my sky blue Lacoste
And your knee socks.
I was invited to an event where attendees were encouraged to wear something (on their persons) displaying their attachment to a new musical artist or an older group or artist's current release of new material. (That meant no Bowie, The Human League or Led Zeppelin).
After seeing and photographing the Arctic Monkeys @arcticmonkeys at the Revention Music Center in October, "Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino" has become one of my favorite albums of 2018. Additionally, I've gone gaga for The Last Shadow Puppets @thelastshadowpuppets (the side project of Monkey lead man Alex Turner and Miles Kane.).
So, I scoured the Internet looking for a cool Arctic Monkeys... anything! Sure, there were pins, a few t-shirts and a cap or two available. But, they just weren't "me."
Since everyone knows I'm a tie guy, I took one of my shots of Alex @alexturnered and personally made it into a necktie.
Like the old saying goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention." I consider it my little Christmas present to myself.
Everyone dug it. I'm kinda proud of the photos I shot in October and this cool-ass necktie that commemorates the shots and the Monkeys' electric performance.
DISCLAIMER: The Arctic Monkeys necktie is a one-of-a-kind personal garment, and I am not making any additional ones. More importantly, I am not selling any! EVER! It is not commercially available. It's just for my personal wardrobe. And it is meant as my heartfelt homage to a group of musicians I have come to greatly admire.
