What a great family to ride with today.... We didn’t let the clouds stop us from exploring Newcastle’s best bits on our electric #BYKKO#e-bikes.
Taking off from #HoneysuckleHotel we went along the foreshore and the Hunter River to start our cruise to the end of #Nobbysbreakwall
We were stoked to see the #dolphins 🐬 playing around in the harbour and the big freight ships 🛳 coming and going in our busy port.
Dodging the waves 🌊 that break over the rocks, we head back for our well needed #coffee ☕️ break (after all, this family is from Melbourne)! Cruising past #FortScratchley and down the old streets of #NewcastleEast, we found ourselves at @estabar_ ,one of the most established best coffee places in Newcastle.
After convincing the Melbourne family to stay in Newcastle instead of going to Sydney for the day tomorrow (with a long list of tasty food stops and things to do), we head up the hill to #Strezleckilookout
Through the famous Newcastle beach tunnel, past the kiosk and along the foreshore, it’s an effortless ride up the cliff, stopping by the #Bogeyhole for a quick look.
A ride around #KingEdwardPark, we see the beautiful flowers and experience the stunning views of Newcastle coastline.
From #ANZACmemorialwalk we can see #CooksHill, #DixonPark and #Merewetherbeach with all the surfers and people enjoying their day.
Returning via Newcastle cathedral and along Hunter Street and the old train tracks, we found ourselves back at honeysuckle hotel ready for lunch.
We where so happy to have this fun family from Melbourne visit Newcastle and I hope they come back soon and spread the word about just how awesome this city is. #tournewcastle#newcastletours#getoutthere#ebiketours#newcastleaustralia
We get around on our BYKKOs, that’s for sure! .
Starting from the #newcastlecruisingyachtclub, we head along #Honeysuckle, racing the cruise and coal ships.
Riding along the Hunter River, we head towards Nobbys Lighthouse in the distance.
It’s a cruisy ride to the end of the break wall where we view the whole coastline from #portstephens all the way down to Redhead Beach.
Up at Fort Scratchley we can see the stunning views of the Newcastle’s spectacular coastline and learn about the rich history of World War II and the role Newcastle played in it.
Past #Newcastlebeach, up the paths to the #bogeyhole and through #KingEdwardPark we reach the top of #Strezleckilookout and take in the sights from the #anzacmemorialwalk.
It’s a downhill cruise from here to Cooks Hill, Dixon Park and #merewetherbeach
With the assistance of the electric motors, no place is too hard to get to on our #bykko E-bikes.
The Newcastle Memorial Walk was constructed to commemorate the centenary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli in 1915. This ANZAC Day, honour the men and women who served their community and their country by attending dawn services, wreath laying, marches, two-up games and commemorative services held across #NewSouthWales. Anzac walk for Anzac Day ❤️
I wasn’t born in Australia. I became an Australian 20 years ago this month. Every Anzac Day I make the effort to show my respects to the amazing people that served this country. Lest we forget 🙏🏾
